Will be sailing on Eclipse from Southampton - Zeebrugge, Stockholm etc. Do we take the Kiel Canal or go the long way around?

The long way around.

No Celebrity ship is sized to transit the Kiel Canal. Oceania, Azamara, Princess R-class ships are OK, HAL Prinsendam and some other smaller ships but nothing bigger.

We took our cruise from Southampton two years ago and loved every minute of it. If you are stopping in Estonia, be prepared for lots of cruise ships and get off ASAP, raining or not. You will at least have some time to enjoy Tallinn before it gets way overcrowded. That was the only small hiccup in our trip! Enjoy...
