Purvis1231 Posted May 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2016 We are considering the Liberty but I noticed this morning she required tugs to dock in Galveston. Are there any plans to have the problem corrected?
ccarnut Posted May 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) . I guessing it would be fixed as soon as they could Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Edited May 21, 2016 by ccarnut
jst Posted May 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) Carnival issued a statement that people on the may 21st cruise will have their cruise cut by one day while she sits in Galveston so they can start to finalize the fixing of the problem. People can board the ship and be on board that day, receive a $100 credit, or a refund if they are not happy. Unfortunately this will not finalize what needs to be done, so tugs have been ordered for the month of June so that they can dock in Cozumel. Hope this helps:) Edited May 21, 2016 by jst
chengkp75 Posted May 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) Additionally, they have said they plan to have the work completed by mid-June. It is one of three bow thrusters. Edited May 21, 2016 by chengkp75
WLHyatt Posted May 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I watched her sail in from the pier in Galveston this morning, the tugs are more than capable. I would not hesitate to sail on her, even if the issue is not fixed since they have arranged tugs in Galveston and the other ports she sails to. Liberty only does 4/5 day trips to Cozumel and Cozumel/Progreso.
