Short Tour around St. Thomas

We will be on a RCI ship that will be docking in Charlotte Amalie in January early in the morning. We want to spend considerable time shopping and eating lunch but we would also like to go on a short tour of the island. Our ship leaves at 5:30. Is there a tour that will take us around the island in a couple of hours and get us back to the ship well before 5:30? I didn't see anything applicable among the excursions offered by Royal Caribbean.

cruisin'kathy: The taxis that run tours are based at the cruise ship docks or town. The taxis out of the ferry dock basically want to take you to town or the airport.

Thanks. Another question...Princess is offering transportation to St John right from the dock but it includes a 2 hour tour for about what it would cost to do it on our own. I think it may be new since no one has mentioned it yet. We aren't folks who lay on the beach so do you think that would be enough to get a feel for St John? We would definitely have time for a tour around St Thomas then. Thanks
