Wrigley80's Carnival Vista Inaugural Cruise 5/1/16 photo review

So Laura and I were laying in bed looking at a map of Trieste and trying to figure out where we wanted to go for dinner when we heard the greatest sound in all the land...the Carnival horn blow. Which only meant one thing the Vista was pulling into port.

Laura and I both made a run for the balcony to watch her come in....this is what we saw.

Since we were in Italy...we were headed for Pizza and Wine

After dinner it was time for a little Gelato....oh this was so yummy. It is hard to eat regular ice cream now....haha

 

Since we had full bellies of pizza, wine, and Gelato...we called a cab from the restaurant to take us back to the hotel. Once we got back to the hotel we both started to pack up our things, get luggage tags put on cause we were going cruising in the morning....WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO

We headed down to the Lobby of the hotel for the free breakfast and to wait for our ride to the port

 

Those grapes were HUGE....like the size of golf balls

 

The breakfast was super yummy and had a very good selection of items

 

 

Bar Service at breakfast...yes please. When we checked in the day before we were given two free drink coupons to enjoy. We didn't make it down in time the previous night so we both enjoyed a couple mimosas at breakfast

The lobby of this hotel was beautiful

We had a private shuttle service to take us to the port. Our shuttle pick-up was for 10:00 am.

 

And there she is....I swear when we turned that corner and I saw the ship for the first time I had tears in my eyes. Anybody that knows me and reads my reviews will know that I cruise for the ships...not the ports.

 

 

It was a rainy morning but I could care less what the weather was like...just get me on that ship

The Harbor in Trieste

 

 

Embarkation in Trieste was unlike any other that I have experienced. This would be their only embarkation so there was no priority waiting area. Embarkation was a little chaotic. People were complaining about this.

From the time we got out of the taxi to getting onboard took maybe an hour and 20 minutes

When we booked this cruise I booked it on an interline rate and got it very cheap. Our airfare to get to was more than the cruise if that tells you anything. So when I booked this cruise I booked an inside but the Family Harbor inside cabins were the same price as the traditional insides so why not try out something different.

 

I booked cabin 2441. It was the first interior Family Harbor cabin on starboard side

 

I love the nautical theme in the cabins

 

We had blue and red robes in the family harbor cabins....and guess what??? No one has worn these robes....LOL

 

The safe was keypad entry

 

The Carnival Vista inaugural book. We were allowed to keep these. I thought that was a nice touch from Carnival

Nothing different about the bathroom...except no one had used the toilet...yet....hehe

After we checked out our cabin we wanted to explore this beautiful ship

 

The Family Harbor Lounge wasn't even ready yet for passengers....we would check back on this

 

 

The Tides Bar on deck 10 AFT

 

 

It was a little chilly for the pool today

 

Everything looked so clean and new

One of the new restaurants onboard...the Seafood Shack. I particularly didn't care for the fish and chips...it was too greasy for me

 

 

All new furniture...hehe

 

The hand washing stations were all over on Lido deck

 

 

The Beer Stations...there were 4 of them on the Lido Deck. They served up Thirsty Frog Red and Bud Light

We were starting to get hungry and the ship was getting busy so we decided to head to our favorite restaurant onboard...Cucina del Capitano

My first lunch onboard consisted of chicken fettucini with chicken and shrimp

The Ocean Plaza bar

 

 

These revolving doors were massive

 

The Ocean Plaza area on deck 5 AFT. This is where they held most of the trivia and there was always music in here at night

 

The Coffee Bar

As I was walking by the Coffee Bar...I saw this guy. Pretty sure we all know who he is. And as I introduce myself to him...I say "Hello. My name is Brianna." To which he replies "Yeah I have seen your picture with the chicken hat." I nearly died laughing that he knew Pedro. He asked me if I brought Pedro on the cruise. I told him that Pedro would be making an appearance soon...and Pedro brought friends on this cruise

 

Bonsai Sushi...we never made it here because I don't like Sushi

The Red Frog Pub and Brewery would end up being our favorite bar onboard because of the awesome bartenders

The Library...I don't usually spend too much time in here onboard :p

 

 

 

Taking Steakhouse and Cucina reservations

This was absolutely BREATHTAKING....I think I just stood there with my mouth open in awe.

 

 

It's tradition that my first drink on every cruise is a twilight zone in the Atrium Bar. That didn't change on the Vista

The Casino was on deck 4...I never gambled on the Vista

 

 

I hung out in here a lot as well....the Sky Box Sports Bar

The Limelight Lounge on Deck 4 AFT was where they had Karaoke in the evening as well as Comedy Shows

The Horizon Dining Room on Deck 4 AFT was for guests with Your Time Dining. This was also where breakfast and brunch was served

 

 

 

I really liked the Color scheme in the Horizon dining room
