Preacherman46 Posted June 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Not clear on how this works. For instance, cabin upgrade. Any info appreciated. Thanks!:)
Clarea Posted June 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Not clear on how this works. For instance, cabin upgrade. Any info appreciated. Thanks!:) A stateroom upgrade is just a credit to your booking in the amount of the difference between an inside and an oceanview. Note also that this is one of the redemptions that can only be applied to the fake non-discounted fare, so your price will go up significantly (no BOGO60 for example) in order to apply this redemption. It may be more beneficial to redeem for pure discount as this can still be applied to the fake discounted fares.

MikeBayAreaCa Posted June 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2016 It's very easy to use the points now. No more mailing things in and getting certificates back. I was able to take off over $1,300 on the $1,600 fare on my next cruise and also have 450.00 in on board credit. It's almost a free cruise. Preacherman46 Posted June 1, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Thanks, appreciating all of the replies. We now have 2 cruises booked. Allure in January (oceanview balcony) and Vision (Mediterranean junior suite balcony) but still very green at all of this. Only 4 Caribbeans (RC & Carnival) and 1 TA on Celebrity. Looks like mostly we look at OBC with the points?

Using the points for OBC is probably the easiest redemption and is still allowed with the fake sale pricing

We have just signed up for the card. We can use the points for OBC on a cruise already booked? Probably a silly question but it seems there are always a lot of "ifs".:)

Clarea Posted June 1, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Thank you, Bob!:) You're welcome. One last note, you won't earn the bonus points until after you make a purchase and go through one or two billing cycles. So hopefully your cruise is more than 2 months away.
