Elation: Should I change rooms

I have a room booked on the Elation at the aft on the Upper deck (U171), I am considering moving to the Empress deck (E185). This is under the aft dining room and my PVP told me to consider the possible noise that might come from the dining room above me. I am thinking that the only real noise might be during dinner but I am hoping some of you with experience in this location will give me your experience with this location. Thanks.

Generally I prefer a cabin on a deck in between cabin decks, to avoid any noise issues. There is nothing really better about an Empress Deck room than an Upper deck room, so personally I wouldn't take the chance.

Dining room shouldn't be a problem. I thought I booked under one on the Elation a couple of years ago, but , miss judged and was under the galley. Needless to say, they work in there at all hours of the day. If I had to guess, we were under a walk in cooler as I heard the door slam over and over.

Cheers!

Scott

Change ships is a better idea.

Stay on Upper. We've had U154(?, across from the laundry room) on both the Paradise and Elation. No noise form the laundry, but at 4am the smell of garlic wafted into the cabin. Woke up starving.

Hopefully your cabin doesn't have that experience.

Just off the Elation...we were in E144.....this is our third time on this ship...and we have sailed the Fantasy class many times...but we were under the galley...which I was aware of but the noise was really really bad....we think they were building something:D

I politely inquired whether there was construction going on and was told we were under the galley...I told her I knew that but this was more than galley noise...Just complained one time and did not ask for anything at all.

I was totally surprised when we were compensated and given a discount on a future cruise...they never told us but I'm convinced they were constructing or deconstruction something above us:eek:

The ship is showing some signs of aging but the service on the ship was impeccable...some of the best MDR waiters we've ever had...

If you think some noise would bother you I would stay on the Upper deck...we just like the Empress deck and try to stay there...even with the noise it was a great cruise.

Thanks for all your insights, my thought process was that the dining room would only be used until 10 at night and with carpet there would not be much noise after that. I have plenty of time to decide but I appreciate all your input.
