Your Carnival embarcation time!

This is a copy of what Carnival is emailing to all booked guests or asking when you book. This is for the Sunshine but I believe a few other Carnival ships are doing it. We are cruising on the Sunshine tomorrow but are Diamonds so don't have to worry. This us the 1st time the Sunshine is starting this. Your time is printed on your boarding pass.

Guests must pre-register online and select a check-in window. If you have already completed your Online Check-In, please re-visit us at http://www.carnival.com/onlinecheckin to select your check-in time. A check-in time will automatically be assigned to guests who do not pre-select a window online.

All guests will be required to show a paper or mobile boarding pass to access the cruise terminal.

While you can print your boarding pass at any time, one will be emailed to you the morning of your cruise. Please don't forget to bring it with you (printed or on your mobile phone).

Due to limited space, guests who arrive prior to their check-in time will not be permitted to enter the cruise terminal and will be asked to return at their scheduled check-in time. This will be strictly enforced so we can achieve the desired guest experience.

Guests who are part of our Priority Program (Diamond, Platinum and suites) and guests who have purchased transfers with Carnival must still select a window online so we can prepare onboard, but are invited to come at their leisure.

Although guests may access the terminal at 11:30 AM, based on their window selection, boarding is scheduled to begin at approximately 1:30 PM.

For more information on this new process, please visit us at http://www.carnival.com/onlinecheck-inselection.

Anyone know of any other ships doing this??????????

We did it with the Carnival Dream out of New Orleans last month. We signed up for the 10-10:30 slot when we did our on-line check in. We got to the port around 10:15, parked, and was let into the building after they checked our time. Others who were there before the time on their boarding pass were told they had to wait outside. There was no line to check in. We checked-in, got our boarding zone 4 and then took a seat and waited 30-45 minutes until they called our number to board. It was quite easy for those who followed the directions.

We got a call last night about boarding the Sunshine today. They said everyone should plan on arriving 1 to 1 1/2 hours LATER than you planned! Harborfest is going on at the port and the ship will be late docking because of this. It is deadheading from Charleston, SC and has no passengers on her.
