Just so you know that Hampton Inn "Las Olas" is actually more than a mile walk away from the restaurants and bars on Las Olas Blvd. It is an urban hotel wedged in between bank towers and parking garages. Though you may pay a high premium for a room with a view, the Pier 66 is on the Intercoastal Waterway overlooking Port Everglades. Pool area of that Hampton not even remotely comparable.

going on a cruise and looking at both these hotels any info would be great> a lot of the reviews are old so looking to see if anyone has stayed there recently?

Looking for a great pool to relax before cruise

Skip both of these at look at The Riverside Hotel on Las Olas if you want to be in the area.

Can you walk to restaurants from pier 66? Is there a cruise shuttle ?

Walking over the 17th St bridge would be a challenge for some, but once on the other side, you'll encounter many dining options. We have stayed at Hyatt 66 in the past, and will be there in a few weeks again - we also always have a rental car. Rather than walking a distance to find a restaurant, select one, and then either cab or Uber - it's only a mile or two, not an $$ ride.

FYI, Hyatt66 has a nice pool side restaurant; we always book with the Hyatt full breakfast included. Pelican's Landing is a fun dining option on the property, too. It's at the end of the pier, lighter fare, fun place for a drink in the evening, though the hotel's lobby bar isn't bad for drink & snack, too.

Hyatt66 offers a shuttle to the beaches, along A1A. No airport shuttle.
