Our friends will be driving into Ft.Lauderdale a day early for our cruise on the Summit. We will be flying but they will be coming from Tampa. We would like to stay at a hotel, close to everything that will allow them to leave their car for the 11 day cruise. Any help would be appreciated ( also transportation to the port??) Thanks for your help in advance. Mary

Last December we bid for the Amerisuites on Priceline and got a very good rate. The hotel is adequate with a continental breakfast. They had a shuttle to the pier (which was nearby), and they allowed us to leave our car there the entire 11 days we cruised. When we returned we simply took a taxi to the hotel, got in our car, and left. It was very simple. The only drawback was there was a large crowd of people to go to the pier the morning the ship sailed. We probably waited 30 to 45 minutes for a shuttle to be available. This was probably because we wanted to go early. I don't know how crowded it might have been later in the day.

Hi I have stayed there as well. If you don't want to wait for a shuttle you can always cab it over to the peir. It only costs about 5.00.

Next up...HORIZON Sept 18th to Bermuda!
