Hi all. My husband and I are going zip lining in Ketchikan next week. He wants to bring his GoPro for the excursion but has been wondering how best to attach it. (He hasn't actually used the GoPro and we've never been zip lining.) He asked me to inquire here to see if anyone had any experience with this specifically or words of advice on GoPro use. Thanks!!

I just bought my partner a go pro for our upcoming cruise for zip lining in Belize. I have seen many accessories and attachments at Best Buy, including a band for your head where the camera attaches to. They also had a chest accessory too. You can get all the extras for the camera a lot cheaper on eBay.

We went ziplining this past February in Belize and my husband had his brand new GoPro strapped to his chest. First zip line and it fell off! Test how to attach it and use it before you go so the same thing doesn't happen to you. The tour guides were very helpful and helped him find it at the end of the zip line tour but that would have been a very expensive tour otherwise! His came with a chest strap.

You may wish to check with the vendor you are using. I don't see it on their website, but the company we're booked with in Ketchikan (Southeast Exposure) indicated that you can either rent a GoPro with them or you can bring your own, but in the latter case they will need to inspect and approve the camera/attachment to make sure it is compatible with their equipment. I'm guessing they've had one too many incidents like the one mentioned by Cybertag!
