Over on the one of those long drawn out proper evening attire threads, UNLIMITED asked the question about what we ladies think is formal.

 

I put these photos up on my site a few months ago to ask a question about hose on the "Cruise Fashion",(That's why there is a close up of my feet in one of the pictures) but they might be helpful to you.

 

Another great link is Lois's Summit pictures which are linked on another current thread. Lois looks lovely in her formal attire.

 

So these dresses fit my idea of what "formal" is for the ladies, however, I don't think you have to get quite this dressed up to be considered formal.

 

 

Ya'll know I love to get dressed up, so formal nights are my favorite. DH looks pretty nice all dressed up too.

I appreciate the comments. It is the once or twice during the year

I can get all dressed up:) and it is fun for me.

at some of my outfits (if you want).

 

I agree, you will see women in slacks and pretty tops.....skirts, cocktail

dresses, long dresses........most get quite dressed up on the formal

evenings.

But now we can't debate over proper attire for "fromal night" what ever that is, and we can't ask questions about our hose questions.!!!

Thanks for all the pics on Formal Attire. I should fit in even though I am not into the floor length or sleeveless dresses (the knee or mid calf works well for me.) Anyway thanks for the great information.
