Looks like we will try this - thanks for your comments.

Do you think we will need a reservation and about what time does the Getaway leave the port?

I think for a table of 2 you'll be fine if you are prepared to have a drink and wait a little.

Embarkation day you may not require a reservation, but it is always safer to make one. If they are sold out,,, then you'll have to wait.

  • 2 weeks later...
I will be on the Getaway in September and have been wondering if anyone has just order apps and drinks? Would like to do this after sail away on the Waterfront.

Sounds like a Fabulous idea! Do it.

I don't recall ever seeing the Waterfront tables packed at any of the venues...well, maybe La Cucina.

If you have the UDP, you can 2 apps, a main and 2 dessert to share with one credit. I'd be shocked of they objected to that. Or just order a la carte.

Booked Cagneys for 5:30 and four of us will be having just apps and drinks. Anyone want to join us? We are hoping to have a view of Miami during sail way.

I've always seen Getaway docked starboard side to so you'd get a nice view of South Point. On the off change she's docked port side, yes, you'll get a great view of Miami from the turning basing, but don't count on it.

However, Getaway is usually scheduled to depart at 4pm so by 5:30, she'd be quite far out to sea.

When will it start getting dark in Miami?

Thank you for your opinion.

Would you kindly share with us and take some pictures of Cagney - there is nothing wrong with doing what you do, the freedom to do whatever, whenever ... since freestyle cruising is no longer the motto.

There is no stated minimum cover charge for the specialty venue - it is just a la carte pricing. Andy Stuart, the COO himself stated that a while ago. Besides, you can do what's called B2B dining, sampling the limited choices and then moving on to checkout, for example, specials in O'Sheehans - where no reservations are needed.

Just another opinion, like food for your thoughts - have a great cruise ;)

QUOTE=dogboy;50505999]Get an entrée...it's a restaurant for Goodness sakes. Oops, did I say that out loud.

Thank you for your opinion.

Yes ma'am. Have a good trip. Cagney's for sail away sounds like a great idea. The sun setting over Miami Beach is beautiful... stunning even.

You'll likely need to leave the waterfront area of Cagney's for a better aft view at sunset time. We've made reservations for Cagney's later in the evening, but may see you around for sunset. Hope we get our meet and greet organized soon for this sailing. Happy planning
