NCL Room Service-Questions and Opinions

I've tried searching and I know the info is out there, but just not finding what I need.

 

Is the charge for room service still $7.95? What does the price include. For example, if I ordered a sandwich, fries, salad and desert would the room service fee cover all items or would there be additional fees.

 

Also interested in opinions about the room service........the good, the bad and the ugly! Is it worth it?

 

And if anyone has a copy of current room service menus I would appreciate having a chance to get a preview.

 

We are sailing in late October on the Dawn out of Boston.

It's per delivery, you can order all you want for a flat rate. However, some items are an up charge. If you wanted a slice of pie and an iced tea $7.95 if you ordered for 4 people and get 3 trays of food $7.95.

 

The food was fine. Not great, but it serves it's purpose. We found every order to be correct and delivered in promptly with a smile.

I always tip $1 or $2, even if my order is just the free coffee and a muffin. The server is not getting the $7.95.

Here you go - from the BA 5/22/2016

Pizza is included as part of the $7.95 delivery charge, order as little and as much as you wish, including the hot breakfast items (light/continental breakfast - not shown here - still free, 6:30 to 10 AM only)

Newer menu(s) are/were supposed to be out fleetwide - July 2016 ... thus far, haven't seen or read any reports or updates about it ... like the faster SpeedNet upgrade.

Room service is "just o.k.".

 

We prefer to run out to O'shehan's (or other 24/hr restaurant) and get some hot food served fresh from the kitchen (vs. taking a tour of the ship).

I ordered room service on the Escape. One of the items I ordered was a salad with blue cheese dressing. It took an hr for them to deliver it and the dessert I ordered was ok but in place of the salad was a small bowl with hunks of blue cheese in it. Rather funny in retrospect but not so funny then. I did tell the man who delivered the order and he did correct it and didn't charge me the $ 7.95 but by the time the REAL salad had arrived it was getting close to dinner time.
