marinaro44 Posted July 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 19, 2016 First time on Azamara. What can the onboard credit be used for? Thank you Bill It depends on from whom you received the on-board credit. If it's from your cruise agent it can be used for anything. And, if not completely used, the unused amount will be credited to your credit card. If it's from Azamara, all of it must be used during your cruise or you will lose the unused amount. In some cases the Azamara on-board credit can come in two forms. Some of it can be used for almost anything purchased or spent while 0n-board: specialty restaurants, internet time, shore excursions, items in the shops, photographs, etc. But some of it may be from a promotion called the Early Booking Benefit, and this on-board credit must be used for shore excursions, and only shore excursions. And, as of now, at least, it can only be used for excursions booked after you're on-board, not for excursions booked in advance. You should be sure to know before boarding exactly how much of any on-board credit from Azamara falls into the two categories in the paragraph above. On one AZ cruise we were fortunate to have tons of OBC, but none of it could be refunded to our credit cards. And since we were in a suite and had unlimited free access to the specialty restaurants, we were a bit perplexed as to what to do. Well we used a lot for internet, and there was one shore excursion, but in the end, we went on a shopping spree in the on-board shops and bought some Christmas gifts. laurieb Posted July 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2016 The extended cruise OBC can be used for anything on the ship too. There are always options to spend onboard if it isn't the early booking OBC; the spa, chef's table, casino, upgraded beverage packages.

Katie H Posted July 20, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 20, 2016 On our last Azamara cruise we had tons of non-refundable OBC. We did some excursions and specialty restaurants. The rest we spent in the shop. On the day I was spending the last of it, I got it down to just $2 remaining and planned on just leaving it behind. One of the clerks said not to do that. She said go take a roll of those mints for $1.20, which I did planning on leaving 80 cents behind. Then another clerk handed my DH a packet of tissues which were 65 cents. We did in fact leave 15 cents behind. We had been told that the OBC could be used at the art auction. DH threatened to go to the auctions and bid 15 cents on every picture :D. I detest the art auctions on Azamara - just not appropriate for this line!
