dolphingirl47 Posted July 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2016 I have just had some medication changed to a version that I need to inject myself. On most cruises this will not be an issue as I can do it at home before I leave, but I am due an injection on a cruise next year. Is there a way I can access a sharps bin on the ship or do I need to bring my own? Corinna

This link does not seem to work from the UK and just brings me to a generic landing page, but I found an email address on the UK site. CapeCodCruiser Posted July 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2016 If you only need to dispose of a couple of sharps we just walk down to the infirmary and dispose of them there - no need for a whole sharps container.

That is even better. I just need a single injection during the cruise so I am more than happy to walk down to the health centre. Corinna
heatherb1958 Posted July 26, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 26, 2016 Hello from another Mancunian :). My hubby is on two injections, one a week ,one a fortnight and we just ask the room steward for a sharps container. It has never been a problem and no pre ordering required. Enforcer Posted July 27, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2016 Hi Corinna, If you want to get this sorted (good Manc term) you can get Royal to have a sharps container in your room ready. Contact is specialistservicesuk@rccl.com (they will point you in the right direction if not that e-mail address) If your husband uses one of the prefilled pens that has the needle that you screw on such as Bydureon etc. from my experience they will want the whole item putting in the sharps container not just the needle, so some of the smaller sharps containers won't accommodate them, I would suggest you tell them so they can get it sorted. gjc1111 Posted July 27, 2016 #16 Share Posted July 27, 2016 There are sharps containers on the wall in the public restrooms -- at least there were on Grandeur last month. I assumed they were standard now?
