We too are interested in the casino if anyone has any information to share -- how big, any favorite slot machines, etc. Thanks.

The casino is pretty big. Just to the left of these pictures are rows of slots. About 5 machines per row. This is only half of the casino. The other side has 4 blackjack tables and the rest are slots. f3d780fb82cd819bc5395806573ae4ac.jpg

  • 1 month later...

The casino is quite large, and very smoky! Worst I have ever experienced and it is sad because it is a brand new ship and you would think they would have the ventilation down.

At the bar in the casino where everyone was smoking, you could not tell or smell; the smoke must have been ventilated out into the casino area!

I was on the inaugural cruise and the smoke stench was awful. Saved me lots money as I didn't visit it as often as I would have normally.

We were just on the Carnival Vista and im not a fan of the new casino layout. While everyone is remarking its large, it fell smaller, chopped up to me. The bar is circular in the center with tall partitions creating a second circular area outside of the seating. To me it lacked openness and shrunk the space. The cage is also tucked way in the back and the casino hosts operate on a laptop situated in the area that leads to elevators, stairs, bathrooms. It felt odd (to me) as well. Lots of new to me type of slot machines. As a frequent player there are a handful machines y see in just about any casino. Quite of few of these machines were unfamiliar to me. The casino was slow slow slow the week we were aboard. Casino hosts/staff commented the same. With that different energy all week, I didn't come away a fan of the Carnival Vista casino.

Just one persons opinion/observation.

Not a good layout. They were remodeling it already including laying new flooring. They closed early on 9/10 to start the renovation which did not make people happy. We got a letter telling us about the shorter casino hours. Not a good thing to do, alot were very upset. Also there are no close restrooms by the casino. Really? Heard the woman who designed it got fired. Poor poor layout.

If thats the case every casino designer should get fired, they are all smokey. I cant imagine how even smokers put up with it.

I dont use casinos (mugs game) but i did look in there are couldnt wait to get back out. It stank and smoking in a public place that that should be banned. No one should be subjected to that amount of stinky secondhand smoke.

Agreed. I was really surprised that the smoke smell was as bad as it was. We walked up to Deck 5 to avoid walking through it.

-The casino size appeared to be similar to that of others that were built in the last several years. Difference was bar was in the middle of the casino instead of tables which was different

-As someone who is allergic to significant smoke, I was only bothered one night

-I played (and was successful) at the penny slots that offer extra spins as well as Carnival's version of lottery scratch-offs. Every night they gave away cash and the final night a cruise. The people that won would say the casino was awesome! I know I would

-On other ships, the restroom is typically kind of inside the casino before you walk out to the elevators. In this case, you walk past the elevators toward the stairs. So a few extra steps, but not bad.

I sailed the 8-day out of Barcelona 8/26. I had a wonderful time. Hoping to catch up on some reviews this weekend.

Enjoy your trip.

I was on in early July and did not find it that smoky. It's quite a large casino and I had no problem with the layout. My main issue was with the restrooms. We had to go to another floor to get to the closest bathroom. I'm not sure who figured that was a good idea. I guess I'm just used to the ones by the casino bar.

It was a decent size, but the payouts I saw were very small. (most under $500) It was my thought that the machines must have been a bit tight when they announced over and over in the casino that someone (one lucky person) had won a $2,000 jackpot.... In my opinion that wasnt a big enough win to be announced...but since it was.(over and over) ...There may not have been many more large (decent) payouts...We sailed September 2016.

There is a Ladies restroom just out side the Casino past the elevators to the left of the stairs. The Mens room is a bit farther away.
