New Orleans for New Years?

single male.

 

thinking of ncl dawn to mexico dec 23 to dec 30.

then stay in hotel dec 30-jan 1, and fly out jan 1 afternoon.

 

How's new orleans for New Years?

crowded? great? not worth it?

Fabulous. Great crowds, fireworks, music in Jackson Square, and all the bars and music clubs are rocking. Frenchmen Street (Fauberg Marigny, just across Esplanade from the French Quarter) attracts a younger crowd, including lots of locals.

 

My wife and I do it every year.

This is also the same time as the Sugar Bowl so the town will be packed with football fans. If you are going to stay over New Years, make your reservations NOW. Word of warning though - I found when making our Sugar Bowl reservations last year that you had to prepay your reservation for many of the hotels.

 

Hilton Riverside & the Marriott on Canal were both the team hotels, so they may already be booked solid.
