best place to grab lunch first day on the ship (Oasis)

Recommended Posts

What time are you planning-hoping to be on the ship? We usually eat a big breakfast at the hotel so we go to Park Cafe for a sandwich. It also depends on your dinner plans. We eat early at MTD-usually 530 or so-so a light lunch works for us. If you plan to eat later for dinner-you might want more food at lunch-lots of options-Sabor-Johnny Rockets, etc. Love Oasis-2nd time in May-was our best cruise-EVER-enjoy.:D Melinda

I believe dinner that first night for us is 8:30. We hope to be on the ship relatively early, we'll already be in Florida, so definitely before noon. Looking at Giovanni's menu I'mnot sure it would appeal to everyone in our party. Sabor looks good though.

Giavannis is cheaper for lunch than dinner-different menu offered-it is not your typical Italian place-food is different. Sabor is good-it is outside but covered-it can be hot-no ac.And it is ala carte-great Guacomole. Johnny Rockets is 6.95-the place is half outside-half inside with ac. Usually the windjammer is not too bad if you can get there early enough-doubt if they have a table that sits 11, though.

We have been going to Sabor on embarkation day whenever we are on Oasis or Allure. It is not busy at all because people don't think about it or don't know it is there yet. Also you get to watch everyone walk thru the boardwalk for the first time and their reactions are great!

You should have plenty of room for your entire group as they move tables together for you.

Is there the normal charge for eating at Giovannis? We've eaten there at dinner, when there is a charge, but never for lunch.

It's typically $5 less than dinner for lunch, so figure $20 or $25.

Since you enter the ship through the Royal Promenade, we stopped by Cafe Promenade to look at the offerings and grabbed a cookie to hold us over as we walked up to Park Cafe.:p We boarded just after 11am and it was busy but there were still plenty of seats.

We did this too. It was right there so we grabbed a light lunch (and our kids grabbed pizza at Sorrentos which is just across from it). We didn't want to deal with long lines with our carry ones. It was fine but nothing special. So it depends if you want to start off with a 'wow' or just grab something before you can settle into your room.
