My first sighting of the ship will never get old.

 

On cruise 1 and 2 we could literally see the ship from our hotel room and I missed that on our 3rd trip (out of Baltimore). I will confess to clapping when the cab rounded the bend and I finally got to see Pride. Nothing like it!!

Logging off my work computer sets the mood.

 

Putting luggage in the car and pulling out of the driveway starts the excitement.

 

Seeing the whale tail causes me to put on my permagrin.

 

Hearing the "ding" let's me know the cruise is on!

 

Drinking that 1st DOD and watching 1st timers expressions ... priceless.

There are so many things for us that never get old, putting down the deposit, research, planning. I generally sail with a group of 20 or more, so for me planning pre-hotel and Meet & Greet. One thing that does stand out for hubby and I. As soon as we open our cabin door for the first time during our sailing, we always say . . . "We're Baaccck" . . . !!! Gotta Luv Cruising!!

Wow, so many things, but probably the thing that really never gets old is that first step on the ship. This time we will be going back to our very first ship. It really feels like we are going home.

I agree. When you first step foot on the ship, hear the excitement and see the colors in the atrium.

 

Unfortunately there are a few more things that are becoming more of a chore with each passing cruise....the online check-in, packing, etc. Ugh.

Many of us are fortunate to have quite a few cruises under our belts, but there are a few things that never get old. For me, it's the anticipation of check-in and waiting for them to hand me that precious S&S card. It never gets old!

 

Another thing that never gets old...my traditional embarkation day lunch of cheeseburger, french fries and DOD. That's my sign that vacation has officially started.

 

What never gets old for you? (Play along...help keep me entertained for these next 22 days until I board Valor!) :D

Borrowing a stapler at the hotel to put the cruise baggage tickets on. Getting on the ship early (thank you Platinum status) and feeling like we have the ship to ourselves for at least a few minutes, seeing my suitcase outside the cabin knowing it made it and so I can unpack, waiting for sail away! Tomorrow can't come fast enough, hello Carnival Miracle!

1. Going to the Guest Service desk and seeing the line +10 people and I can go straight to the Diamond/Platinum line where there is no line.

 

2. Being escorted out of the VIP Lounge on the way to boarding the ship. I give the masses waiting and watching my Platinum Wave.

 

3. I'm one of those Early risers that grabs about 4 lounge chairs on Serenity Deck for just the two us.

Just my preference ,and points earned over the years with free hotel nights.

We actually have enjoyed staying in several of their "three hundred fee"plus port hotels for free. That takes a huge bite out of our cruising tab.

Got it. It definitely helps with what you can book on the ship, when you can find ways to control the other costs. I got hung up on "beautiful", thought there was something architectural I was missing.

Yeah, I'm in the hotel business. I actually worked at Embassy Suites when the brand was started, so I will always have soft spot for them. My personal taste run towards the classic old hotels, Don Cesar, Boca Raton Resort, several of the Miami Beach Hotels. For investment, or saving money when we travel, I love the Hampton Brand.

I just feel different when I log in online to the cruise web site. knowing I can fill out the online check in. Order something to be in my room (though I never do, I always look) the anticipation. walking the gang plank. Wow now I really want to book a cruise

Yeah time was I could stay at almost any Embassy Suites in the world for free. My wife still can't understand why we have to pay for a hotel. It's one of the reasons we didn't cruise more for so many years. Between the rate at which you could rack up free airline tickets (in the old days), and the connections at hotels, she got very spoiled. Very ,very impressed with breakfast ;). Headed to Tampa in a few weeks with stops at ES Jacksonville FL and onto ES Tampa. Then the return trip home Back to Jacksonville FL , you can bet breakfast and the managers reception will be well appreciated .

Here are some other things that never get old (aka-Texas these are jokes so relax)

 

5. Telling Red Card holders that they should try the shooting range at the back of the ship.

 

6. Answering the trivia questions while walking by the contest.

 

7. During the MDR Show, I like Twirling my dinner napkin in the air after wiping my face and nose with my napkin. Watch out for the flying crumbs!
