Disembarkation from Soltice in Seattle

We're doing the Solstice Alaska cruise next June and will be flying post cruise from Seattle to Calgary.

There's a flight at about 10.30 a.m., otherwise we have to wait until mid afternoon.

Does anyone know

a) how long it takes by taxi from the cruise port to the airport on a Friday morning in June,

b) what is the earliest time X will allow passengers to leave, and

c) are there any additional immigration checks for Brits that might delay us getting away

Thanks

I would not choose a flight before noon. The Seattle airport is extremely congested during the summer travel months. Security lines can be long, requiring patience. Plan to arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight.

Although the Solstice arrives in Seattle early in the morning, weather and customs delays can delay debarkation.

You might consider a ship sponsored tour of Seattle with airport drop-off. (Just a thought.)

Last time I flew out of Seattle I was in the security line for an hour. Lines were so long they pay a person to stand at the end of the line with a sign "line starts here". You may also hit rush hour traffic. I would get on Google maps tomorrow morning and see how long the drive takes with traffic as a good estimate.

Since it is 7:30 in Seattle right now, just checked Google Maps. The drive is taking 32 minutes right now. The airport traffic, immigration and security delays are worrying me more than being able to get off the ship and to the airport now.

We debarked in Seattle on 7-22-16, and was walked to a shorter line for suites at 8:30, did not have a problem with security lines, and a bonus was our luggage was separated in a suite group, and found right away. Most of our wait was for a taxi, they lined you up for that. We arrived at Seatac airport at 10:00. It took about 45 min because traffic was bad. So I would not fly out until after 12:00.

Mike

I think we have our answer?

Better to book the p.m. flight and just accept that we can leave the ship as late as possible and have a very, very long lunch in the airport!

Thanks to those of you who have replied so quickly

We did the tour from the ship which worked out well with an afternoon flight. We were in Seattle for three days prior to the cruise and did not go to Space Needle. After the cruise we did the needle tour. Our luggage was in a special place, hopped on the bus. We did a quick tour of Seattle, did the needle and the museum adjacent and then off to airport. Worked very nicely.

If your flight is late enough, you can do the Celebrity post-cruise tour with airport drop off. We've found this to be a very pleasant, informative and interesting way to spend 4 or so hours. You get escorted off the ship to the waiting bus and they usually aren't packed full, so you can spread out a bit, relax and enjoy the tour. Your luggage stays with you the whole time. At the end, you get dropped off at the airport. Sure makes a good way to end a cruise!

Thanks but we'll be in Seattle for a few days pre cruise staying with friends. I think they have a fairly hectic schedule arranged for us, so I assume we will have done most if not all the things seen on the pre airport tour.
