Pompein Posted September 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2016 So read that you get additional OBC when booking onboard. Are the prices/promotions the same as on their website or do they have better deals? Does anyone know traditionally how long E4 lasts? Going in early Nov. will there be new promo by then? According to HAL's website, Explore4 ends Nov. 18, 2016. As to prices, I have always found the to be the same (perhaps others have had better luck?). Same for promotions, except that you get some OBC when booking onboard - generally $25 to $100 per person, depending on cruise and cabin.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) The prices you see on HAL's site will be the same on board the ship. This Explore 4 program is due to end on Nov 18.. Then it is a while before HAL offers anything. Sometimes 6 months before there is another promotion. Prices were the same - we booked two cruises while onboard some 10 days ago - but we got double onboard credit and a reduced deposit . We bought 2 FCCs for each cruise and that was it - if we have to cancel ( of if HAL cancels ="Oosterdam"!!!!) the FCCs can be used again for a future cruise. Pompein Posted September 8, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Thank you! I looked on the website but didn't see the Nov 18 date. For some reason, the HAL website keeps giving me blank pages, and I've tried I.E., Chrome and Firefox.
grayjay Posted September 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2016 I looked at the website again and it clearly said "ends November 18th." but can be withdrawn any time for any cruise that is offered because of limited availability. Hope this helps.

I've never found a huge advantage to booking on board. Doesn't mean it won't happen, just means it hasn't so far ;) The double on board credit is available with the welcome back code and and FCD once you get home. So, we just stay stocked on FCD's and usually book when we are home and have the time and it's convenient ;)
