travelgoddess1 Posted December 11, 2016 #326 Share Posted December 11, 2016 We should be good. For AK are looking at the 2nd or 3rd we of August 2018, for an OS or maybe a RS if it is only the 3 of us. If my MIL joins us we thinking the aft FS or two GS adjoining. We have never been on the Voyager Class so it will be interesting. The flowrider catches my eye as always, even with the cool weather sailing. I hope you two are well. We are headed "your way" this August to Pebble Beach for the Concour and 1 day in San Fran. If we don't cross paths in the next bit here I wish you two the best over the Holidays. I did an Alaska cruise on EX this past May, and enjoyed it. The crew was friendly, and I enjoyed the ports of call, although on a 7-night RT from Seattle, you don't get very far into Alaska. Explorer has recently been revitalized (2015), so has a lot of newer features. I'm going back on EX in September for a Coastal cruise -- looking forward to that, as well. :) The Aft FS would be an excellent location to view the glacier. We wish you both a very Happy New Year and holiday season, as well.
Rare John&LaLa Posted December 12, 2016 #327 Share Posted December 12, 2016 That is also my recollection. March 7, 2016 was the release date for the Caribbean. That is the day I booked all our Oasis cruises. Our FCC actually stayed up on the 6th to make sure we got all the same cabin. :D She got a nice tip and a WOW card. ;)

MADflyer Posted December 15, 2016 Author #330 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Seatrade have just released their new Cruise Ship Order Book summary today, due to the announcement that Carnival is going to take the expected 2019 delivery of the ship that was destined for P & O out of the UK. This is most likely due to market shifts expected due to the events of 2016. They have chosen to list the RCI Oasis IV as the first ship out for 2018, which would enforce the thought that Oasis IV will be the Barcelona based vessel for that summer season. My family is looking to do the transatlantic on Oasis IV in 2018, and a seven day Med cruise before that. I'm already counting down the days, hours, minutes...
woodscruise Posted December 15, 2016 #332 Share Posted December 15, 2016 Madflyer, the P&O ship was destined to P&O Australia. This was the first time that Australia had a new build from Carnival. Carnival are now sending the Carnival Splendor to P&O Australia. It was interesting that Carnival made the announcement on the day that Ovation of the Seas arrived in Sydney. dub237 Posted December 17, 2016 #333 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Port schedules certainly point to the fact that Oasis IV is the planned ship for Barcelona. Just the fact that they plan an early May season is a key indicator of that fact. I was kind of hoping that one of the 'enthusiasts' that post frequently on the Oasis IV thread would post some re-assuring information here that the ship should definitely be ready for transfer to RCI in early 2018. To me, Winter delivery would mean a December 21 to March 21 delivery date and it could be the case that the ship 'order-book' websites have interpreted delivery incorrectly. gaylemh Posted December 17, 2016 #334 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Attached is last year's schedule. The Caribbean cruises for Anthem, not sure about other ships, until 4/12/16. I was on the 3/7/16 12 night cruise and had to do a dummy next cruise until the schedule was released.

molly361 Posted December 17, 2016 #338 Share Posted December 17, 2016 I wonder if they would still have 3 Oasis class ships all located in South Florida??
OfTheSeasCruiser Posted December 17, 2016 #339 Share Posted December 17, 2016 I wonder if they would still have 3 Oasis class ships all located in South Florida?? I personally think they'll always be 3, one in each of the main ports. A fourth is questionable, IMO.
emmy Posted December 17, 2016 #340 Share Posted December 17, 2016 At least in the beginning I believe you will see 4 Oasis ships 3 in southern Florida and one in Port Canaveral. For how long not sure.

walker409 Posted December 18, 2016 #346 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Yeah that's clear, than obviously RCCL won't do the round trips from California to Hawaii, what I can understand to a certain point... And I am pretty sure, RCCL will bring back Radiance to Alaska in 2018, I wouldn't know which other ship for the north- and southbound trips. Let's see whether Explorer will sail from Seattle again... Sent from my iPhone using Forums Looking to do a southbound Alaskan cruise summer 2018. Any thoughts as to when itineraries will be posted? shipfriend_max Posted December 18, 2016 #350 Share Posted December 18, 2016 Q&A with Michael Bayley - in this article he states Oasis IV in fact is going to debut in Europe in 2018, and after that coming to US. Further he mentions a "Quantum-Plus" ship launching in 2019 - let's see...
