What would be the best way to get from the Port of Miami to the Miami airport post cruise? Trying to see if Uber, a shuttle, taxi or ??? would be the cheapest and fastest way to get there. Have never cruised from Miami, so need some help.

Thanks to everyone in advance. . .

Thanks to everyone for your help!! Sounds like the taxi would be the way to go. Do all of them charge the same $27 rate to the airport? We don't have an early flight, but would rather not spend time on a bus or shuttle, etc picking up or dropping off others along the way.

Thanks again!

If you want an adventure take the free City of Miami shuttle (the stop is at the Port Administration Building) across the port bridge to the Downtown Government Center. From there you can take the Metrorail Orange line to the new MIA station. Cost $2.25.

Are there taxis that will accommodate 6 passengers with one bag each?

There are mini-van and SUV cabs that charge the same $27 rate from POM to MIA, but 6 passengers plus bags will be a very tight squeeze or impossible. I would split into two cabs - still cheaper than per person shuttles.

Our experience with Miami Airport - leave lots of time. Very busy airport with lots of people. At least from several years ago unless something has changed.

Our mid-beach hotel is telling us to leave at 5am for a 7:30am MIA flight. Does that sound like enough/too much time?

Nope. From mid-beach to MIA will take about 30 minutes; checking in 2 hours prior to departure, given the TSA chaos common at MIA, is a smart idea.
