Celebrity - purchasing on board credits?

Good morning fellow cruisers,

Could anyone tell me if Celebrity are still offering good exchange rates for onboard credits purchased before the cruise?

Once upon a time in the good old days they gave $A for $US at parity, but I think that may have gone the way of the dinosaurs.......

Would like to buy some and have it safely put away till our cruise in March.

Only 6 more months (sigh).......

Kind regards and happy sailing everyone,

I haven't checked for a month or so now, but it was around the $0.73, not so great by any stretch.:(

I bought mine at 78c to the $ a few months ago, looks like I was wise to buy early. I remember my first Celebrity cruise, $ for $, wish I had got a lot and cashed it in at the Casino for US $, would have given me a nice amount for future places that I need US for. Ahhh the benefit of hindsight [emoji53]. They won't even let you cash out anymore.

Suggest you check the X website for current exchange rate. You can find OBC under gifts. DO the sums and see if the rate on line is better ir equivalent to the bank rate you could get for buying $US ashore. If it is make a choice if it isn't don't bother. Frankly unless the rate is far better I wouldn't bother and pay the bill with my credit card and let the bank do the exchange rate. Over the next 6 months the currency may appreciate or depreciate against the $US. Buying now you are taking a punt
