taxmantoo Posted September 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Considering cruise from Tampa on HAL. Have never been to Tampa before and am unaware of: 1) Tampa Cruise Port disembarkation process and Customs process for non U.S. citizens. 2) Availability of taxis at Tampa Cruise Port 3) Distance and time between port and airport 4) Tampa Airport and average check-in time needed. Considering all of the above, what is the earliest flight out suggested if we wish to leave the ship around 9 am ?
Ramjet1997 Posted September 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Tampa is a very easy port to leave normally - not sure about foreign passengers but it should not be a real problem. They could use more customs agent, like every port. There are lots of taxis as you exit the building - I think it is around $20-25 to the airport for 4 people, which is maybe 15-25 minutes away depending on traffic. Have never seen any real delays at the Tampa airport so you should not have any problems. Would recommend a flight sometime after 11 AM - preferably noon or later if you dont want to stress out. Hope this helps.....
Grant2000 Posted September 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2016 Tampa is quite an attractive city and it's easy to get around the downtown area on foot. If you haven't been there before, you might want to spend a day or two there either before or after your cruise. The cruise terminal is conveniently located near the city centre. http://Tampa-Florida.ca
JohninDC Posted September 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2016 TPA to port or Port to TPA is a flat rate fare of $25+tip. As mentioned above, the ride takes about 15 minutes and there will be lots of taxis. Tampa is an easy port, except for the fog delays in the winter months.
