George C Posted September 28, 2016 #29 Share Posted September 28, 2016 After about a dozen or more visits, we just like to go downtown, wife likes to shop, have lunch at one of the many good restaurants and of course have a few drinks, very easy and cheap to grab a taxi for this

jules815 Posted September 28, 2016 #32 Share Posted September 28, 2016 !st time in cozumel Play Mia Beach Break through the cruise line. So-so beach, terrible food, broken possibly dangerous water toys. (2008) 2010, did the parasailing, I personally hated it, but it was well organized and my wife loved it, this was on her bucket list. I only hated it because I hate heights :o Also RC excursion. 2013 - Dolphin Encounter - This cruise went to Costa Maya and Cozumel. My wife and her friend wanted to do a dolphin encounter. I don't like these things at all, but the ladies wanted it and reports were the dolphins at Costa Maya were not well kept. I think the place was called Dolphinaria about a mile north of the cruise pier. It was well done and the dolphins looked healthy. This was also an RC excursion. 2015 - Nachi Cocum, went away from official RC - Had a great day here. Agree with Bill here. Our first visit to Cozumel as new cruisers, we booked the Beach Break through RC at Playa Maya and thought it was horrible. Crowded, food was bad, buffet swarming with flies. Did research on CC for our next visit there, and ended up at Nachi Cocom, and have returned at least 5 times. Always a nice, relaxing beach day. Not crowded, clean, all inclusive drinks and lunch included. Easy cab ride from the pier. Book online, early. They only take 100 people per day. 2hearted Posted September 28, 2016 #33 Share Posted September 28, 2016 By far the best excursion in Cozumel is the water slide/flow rider/mini golf/rock wall or whatever else your ship has to offer on board. champagne123 Posted September 28, 2016 #34 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Stupid question but is this an organized event or do you just find your own bars? This is the #1 top rated excursion for the Cozumel Bar Hop: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g150809-d1788364-Reviews-Cozumel_Bar_Hop-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html

cruzeluvr Posted September 28, 2016 #37 Share Posted September 28, 2016 We really enjoyed Nachi Cocum. It is very relaxing. We're on Liberty of the Seas in January and have already paid a deposit to go back there. Another vote for Nachi Cocum!
Rare BillOh Posted September 28, 2016 #38 Share Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) , food was bad, buffet swarming with flies. Re- Beach Break Playa Mia - That was my strong memory. That said, from our 2008 roll call there was a bunch of people that did a "mexican cuisine" excursion through Royal and they ended up at the same place. They cooked their own food, were given Tequila through an IV and had a great time. Obviously their food was better. My roll call friend Prudence wrote this: The Cozumel Cooking was a blast! First we took a short comfortable bus ride to Playa Mia resort. We strolled throught the resort to the restaurant area where we were asked to take a seat, have a drink and wait a few minutes. We were them escorted to the new cooking building and shown our work stations. Luis was our Master Chef and I recognized him from three years ago when he was an assistant Chef. He has since travelled to France and studied cooking. He is fun, knowlegable and cute! Luis asked us "What's the first thing you do before starting to cook?" We said "Wash you hands." He said, "No get your drinks!" Luis then introduced our bar man who never let our drinks get anywhere near empty. We washed and started cooking our dessert, main course and appetizer. We learned how to use a tortilla press and about native spices. We made a rice pudding wafer dessert and chicken or fish with a mango sauce. We laughed alot and enjoyed the dinner afterward. This excursion is alot of fun and I'd recommend it to everyone! PRUDON, are you still out there? Edited September 28, 2016 by BillOh
poncho1973 Posted September 28, 2016 #39 Share Posted September 28, 2016 We've done Paradise Beach and enjoyed it. Not that we've done Mr. Sanchos... well... I'm a Mr. Sanchos Guy now.
MikeNJ1109 Posted September 28, 2016 #40 Share Posted September 28, 2016 The one and only RC organized excursion we ever took was during a stop in Cozumel, and we went to the Ruinas Maya at Tulum. The trip has special meaning to us, as our daughter (born in Guatemala) is part Mayan, so the chance to see these spectacular ruins was a total thrill. It seems to me that Mr. Sanchos and Nachi are both very well liked. I will say that Nachi Cocom is more adult, without the inflatable water playgrounds that other beaches have, so probably not the best place to bring children. For adults though, it's a really nice beach day.

I will say that Nachi Cocom is more adult, without the inflatable water playgrounds that other beaches have, so probably not the best place to bring children. For adults though, it's a really nice beach day. There were a crapload of kids on the ala carte side of Mr. Sanchos. There were ZERO children on the flat cover charge side. The day we were there, we didn't see anyone try to come over to our side. Although, I went to the other side (the flat cover gives you access to both sides, the ala carte is one side only) and it was a lot more active and happening. kevnick0814 Posted September 28, 2016 #45 Share Posted September 28, 2016 (edited) We took the non-RCL open Jeep tour and loved it! As long as someone in your party can drive a stick, you are good to go. Here is their Trip Advisor link: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g150809-d6609285-Reviews-Cozumel_Jeep_And_Snorkel_Tour-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html Read some reviews so you can see all that you get in this 5-6 hour tour. One personal suggestion: skip the mid island ruins tour. It's not worth it. Spend that time at the beautiful beaches on the east side of the island. tlatrice Posted September 28, 2016 #46 Share Posted September 28, 2016 Another vote for Nachi Cocum. Very nice relaxing beach day. I can't wait to get back there again. If you're looking for a party place though, I wouldn't recommend it for that. There were a few teens there (including my own 15 year old) but even they were pretty subdued. :p On my first cruise I did the Amazing Race Cozumel through RC. We loved it! But I like scavenger hunts so,...:D Here is a link to the description through an independent site: http://thisiscozumel.com/things-to-do/76-tours-and-excursions/1046-amazing-cozumel-race-

coloradoSunshine Posted September 28, 2016 #48 Share Posted September 28, 2016 We've been to Tulum long ago. Also been to Nachi, Mr. Sanchos and Paradise Beach. Loved them all. Probably would choose Mr. Sanchos as our favorite. Our coming trip we are going to try the Bar Hop due to the great reviews and comments here and on trip advisor. We're saving Chankanaab for the next trip we take with the kids (whenever that may be!). So many great options in Cozumel. Our favorite port!
