dewats784 Posted October 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2016 We are cruising next August out of Seattle. We are planning to fly in to Seattle on Saturday and travel to Vancouver to sightsee before our ship leaves from Seattle on Monday. I have been reading about the things to see and do in Vancouver and know we probably won't have time to see it all. My question is what is the best way to travel from Seattle to Vancouver and back. We hope to take an early flight that will arrive in Seattle by 8 or 9 am. How long will it take to travel this distance. Still trying to decide whether we should stay in Vancouver Sunday night and travel back to Seattle on Monday to get to the cruise or if we need to go back to Seattle on Sunday night. CruiserBruce Posted October 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2016 As Seattle and Vancouver are not in Alaska, I would look over on the West Coast Departures board, where they are covered daily.
Sequim88 Posted October 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Also check the Destination Experts on TripAdvisor.com in the Forum for Washington or Seattle (or BC and Vancouver). The best scoop on things on land can be found there. Just like posting on CC but without smilies. ;) That said - there really is lots to see and do in Seattle and vicinity. More than enough for a couple days even if you've been here before.
mapleleaves Posted October 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2016 Your travel options include: alaska airlines, greyhound bus, bolt bus, quick shuttle. Be mindful of the depot locations as they may require a cab ride from the airport to downtown. But IMO, the 'best' option is a rental car. Its about a 3 hr drive but can take 4 or 5 on a weekend, especially early sat and late Sun. If you leave seatac by 10am you'd be downtown vancouver around 2. (or stay outside the city and use the skytrain to access downtown.) I'd suggest overnighting on Sun then drive back to seattle on mon morning. Alamo, enterprise and national have the Port of Seattle contract so you could drop the car at their office downtown seattle and they'll shuttle you to the pier.
