question for those aboard grand now. 12/30 departure. weather and clothes.

 

 

 

i imagine sailing out the bay under the gate it was chilly?

 

jeans, jackets?? what did you wear??

 

 

 

on the trip down, when did shorts weather start?

 

coming back up it's always rougher, i know.

Oh, it will be quite chilly. It always is here when going under the GG bridge, even in the summertime

Dress in layers. Definitely you will want to wear a warm jacket with a hoodie.

We are booked to leave this Friday...the 30th... weather this week is very cold in the early morning 30-40s; by noon/1pm generally warms to about 60.... but on the water it will feel cool, ship leaves at 4 pm if on time... always windy on the water too. You will need a very warm jacket for sail away...

 

Have done this cruise many times... after we get past San Diego will warm up... how much depends on who windy it is... I checked weather last week in Cabo in the 80s...

 

I pack warm jackets for the days at sea between SF and Mexico both directions...
