Great British Bake Off

Hello,

 

May seem a strange question to some, but I will be on the QV when the final of the bake off is on. Does anybody know (satellite permitting) whether BBC1 is available anywhere onboard? Looks like the in cabin tv only has ITV. I will of course enjoy my cruise regardless but it would be nice to watch it without knowing who has won already.

The cabin TV's don't have ITV or regular BBC. Just BBC World News, Sky News, Sky Sports and a few US news channels.

 

They sometimes show live sports programmes in the Golden Lion and Winter Garden.

Interesting, according to the FAQ's ITV is there weather permitting (https://ask.cunard.com/help/fleet/tv_channels). Just a shame Bake off isn't on ITV! Perhaps it's a licensing issue.

I remember watching the X Factor on a cruise in either 2008/09 but we've never had ITV on any of our recent cruises.

If you can get Youtube on the Internet, someone always posts the most recent episode the day after it airs on BBC1. Just search for Great British Bake Off S07E09, or S07E10.

 

I've been watching it this way here in the States.

Love this show! I would not count on catching a Youtube while on board because of the inadequacies of the Internet connection. I think DVR is your best option.

There are various ways the OP can watch it when she gets home (On Demand, BBC iPlayer, NowTV etc.)

 

But I get the impression she doesn't want to read/hear the result before she gets the chance to actually watch it somewhere.

 

it would be nice to watch it without knowing who has won already.

 

So don't read the daily onboard newspaper you get in your cabin. Don't switch on the news channels in your cabin.
