MOcruiserman Posted October 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2016 Good morning. Time to buy Halloween candy. This could be a major problem for me as I love candy, especially candy with nuts. My wife prefers chocolate so together we'll eat almost everything. Today I was happy to see another loss - 1 1/2 pounds to 182. If my pattern holds I'll be lucky to maintain that weight until next Thursday (especially considering Halloween temptations). I hope everyone is doing OK. winewanderer Posted October 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2016 Hello, Belle, cute poem. PS, I saw your question about my China trip next month. It is 7 days touring and a 5 day cruise down the Yangyze river. Hubby and I have wanted to do that. We went to China in 2008 but didn't do the Yangtze cruise. I also saw you are taking a 25 day cruise soon. That is fabulous. I stayed the same. Ok. Cruiserman, good loss. Have a good week everyone. shootr Posted October 27, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2016 So far so good for everyone - Excellent! Thanks for the weekly kick off Belle, I'm fortunate that the missus has found a new hiding place for snacks (and Halloween candy) and I've yet to discover it. Good week, lots of miles on the elliptical, steady eating, and down 2 more to 186. (I peeked yesterday and was 185, but we had spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread and it conspired to add one back) So worth it though! Hope everyone comes by and checks in, always like to hear about what goals are motivating people, tricks that works for them, etc. See ya!
shootr Posted October 27, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 27, 2016 Wait, wouldn't that be negative 16?😆
Belle Posted October 29, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted October 29, 2016 Cruiserman.. Good loss! Maybe remembering your loss will help in not eating the candy. You don't want to gain it back. If by chance you do eat.. get back on track right away. WHY DOES CANDY TASTE SO GOOD? LOL Diana.. Least not a gain.. right? China.. You really liked it there? Think the cruise would be different. I never had a desire to see China. What dates are you going? Yes cruising in 2 weeks. Was going because friend going, she backed out (was doing it for her) but decided to go anyway even thro had to pay double. (save a little had a discount) Then another ask to go with me on 1st cruise, Mexico and I will do Hawaii on my own. (nice will save money on 1st plus have company) Nov. 13 to Dec 8th. shootr.. Your doing good with your eating and exercise. Paying off, 2 lbs lost. Nice your wife has a hiding place. I can hide it but I always find it! LOL I should never buy it.. now being a school night and suppose to rain don't think we will get many kids. My tip for trying to be good is to always have salad fixing's and eggs around. Can make something quick to eat if I don't have something planned for dinner. Ok what's does the rest of you have for tips to lose. I'm still missing people in here. The old timers and the ones who have joined us the last few months. WE want everyone to become old timers and come in every week! We need to come in each week.. keep ourselves accountable and try to lose and even if we gain.. if we didn't come in.. just think could be more of a gain, especially since the HOLIDAY MONTHS ARE COMING! shootr Posted October 31, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Where's the confessional? Nah, just ticked at myself because I caved this weekend and enjoyed too much partying. Way too much... So today is a little self loathing and back to my regular habits. Hopefully you all did better (honestly, unless you held a Mediterranean food truck hostage and forced them to cook 40 hours straight - then you should have)... FlamingJune1967 Posted October 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2016 I weighed in but forgot to post! Down another pound this week - that makes 3.5 so far. sloooow loss, but at least a loss! I only have 6 weeks left before cruise, so probably won't make my "A" goal of 15 lbs. But I can still make my "B" goal of 10 lbs. Cruiserman: Fantastic loss! Stay strong today (Halloween) Diana: no weight gain is a ++++ shootr: nice loss! don't go looking for those snacks :) Belle: How did your friend enjoy their Vista cruise?? Ok, Everyone. Entering the hardest time of year to lose.... STAY STRONG!
Belle Posted October 31, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Remember "closed lips means no candy weight on hips" Just made that up.. LOL! shootr.. I told you to watch out for the ghosts and goblins.. didn't I? They really sneak up on you! But good part your back on track today.. That's what matter's! June.. They liked the cruise and ship. They had a regular room where the others had the kid part. They join them and ate breakfast when in port at family place. Regular breakfast stuff. Not crowded but was off season only about 100 kids and this cruise was mostly port days. June your doing good on your weight loss. Remember whatever you lose before cruise you'll be less than you are right now be it 3 lbs or 10.
winewanderer Posted October 31, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2016 June, good loss. I know you will reach your goals. Shootr, must let loose once in a while........ Belle, we leave on Thanksgiving day, return Dec. 5th. Honestly, hubby is more of a China fan than I am. It was on my bucket list and was interesting. We walked the Great Wall, saw the Chinese Acrobats, Tiananmen Sq. etc. The price was so cheap. We saw this special for this trip and again it's so cheap. Some of the best street food I've had in all my life was in Shanghai. There was this fried bread thing with meat in it and other stuff inside. It was so yummy. I could have eaten 20 of them. Don't know what the meat was........... The trip you are going on, friend or no, sounds fabulous. You will enjoy I know. Have a safe Halloween. Belle Posted November 1, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted November 1, 2016 Diana.. Glad you enjoy China. I think it would be interesting to climb the Great Wall. The history, the sights. I would be afraid to eat the street food there. That would be the problem not knowing what the meat was! Happy you found great food. My 2nd cruise leaves the same day as you but I come back Dec. the 8th. shootr.. You made good choices except the smell of the cigar! LOL
