Comedy shows, and nature interrupt...

Is anyone else like me out there.....

I like to go to the comedy shows, and sometimes they are back to back... And since it seems like your always drinking onboard, and I do CHEERS, that almost to the end of the first show you have to run to the bathroom badly... So by the time you get back, all of the seating is packed ...

I'm not a diabetic and I do have a strong constitution...

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem

Well, don't they empty the lounge after the first show so squatters don't take advantage of the first show seating?

Most of the Conquest class ships that I've sailed on do require everyone to leave, so I thought that was fleetwide.

You can't do a B2B, they empty the lounge after every comedy show.

Well I guess you are attending the shows alone and don't have anyone to hold your seat for you so you have a problem.

I usually go a couple of minutes before the show starts but I have someone to hold the seat for me. At the first show which is a PG show, it is usually not crowded because many people are still eating dinner so many times they do not clear the club before the 2nd PG show but usually have to clear it before the 3rd R rated show and the 4th R rated show.

With no one to hold your seat for you, you could always take the risk of leaving a full drink on your table and your jacket on your seat and perhaps they will still be there when you return.

Go before the first show and don't drink until the second show.

Squatters? You mean people who get there early to get a good seat? Then have to leave and get in line behind people who didn't get there early...and just hope they can get back in to see the second comedian?

Exactly, it isn't fair to those lined up waiting to see the next show. Being an early bird for one show should not make you an all nighter.

The real solution is to have the comedy shows in the main theater when demand is that high

Or it can be capacity controlled by reserving seats prior to sailing as other cruise lines do. That process can eliminate duplicate requests in high demand time.

You mean the people that were eating dinner or watching the show in the main lounge while I got to the comedy club 30 mins before comedy started. They expect to walk out of the main lounge and walk right into a front row seat in the comedy club. If it were a replay of the same show that would be one thing. But it's a different comedian.

Squatters and chair hogs what's the difference? Same degree of self centeredness. My opinion differs from yours so have a nice cruise. I would have figured someone using "saint" in their name would be considerate, guess I'm wrong. See ya!

I don't eat in the MDR so I can by done by 6 and see every show...and you call me an inconsiderate chair hog because you want to eat in the MDR. Step into the main show. Then walk right into a front row seat in the comedy club. FYI I sit in the very back on a barstool. I don't take any of the comfortable seats you covet. I just want a seat for both shows.

I mean they don't clear people out of a land based comedy club between acts.

You can still get a good seat after the line goes down. As so says Jeff the Fun Dude on the Dream. Y'all been to one of his shows? It's something. He begs people not to stand in line because there are still great seats after the line goes down. Then he says So go get some pizza or icecream and come back to get a seat. That's his speech because he said he doesn't want people to get mad over lines and you don't have to stand in them for his shows as long as you are there a few minutes early.

He is a stickler for cruisers to leave the lounge after the shows as well as not to save seats for other people. He is not the norm on carnival. I have never met another comedy club manager that is as serious as he is about the show and his club rules.

About half the ships don't even clear the lounge,,,,,or the ones that I have been on.

The adult shows should be in the main lounge. They want to have an intimate comedy experience but way too many customers cannot get into the shows they would like to see.

Actually, I only go to some of the late night R or X rated comedy shows, and I do sit towards the middle and back of the lounge, so your entire statement above is absolutely false, false and false.

He is about the only comedy club manager who adds something to the shows.

yep, at first I hated it. He wasn't all that funny for a while. I notice he is getting a little funnier every cruise. Plus because we know the rules we can follow them and it's no longer a big deal. We frequently go get hubs his icecream and come back to the show instead standing in line. Also we stay on that end of the ship anyway, so we just head off to our cabin for a few minutes.

Wonder if he ever is on vaca? Every time I am on that ship he is there. He also is the only manager that I have never seen participate in embark and debark.

Hey eveandbob! We use to talk on email a few years back. Glad to see you still hanging around and that you made diamond. We cruised together on the Conquest in 2014. I hung around walkenkeg! We were playing beside each other in the casino and he mentioned cruise critic. Anyway, he was hoot and actually changed ships the same time I did on part of my big b2b trip. I was a lowly gold at the time. I appreciated you higher sailing levels helping me on out that cruise and showing me the ropes. I still use my hanging platinum travel bag that I was gifted by you guys. Till we cruise again!

So on our next cruise it is starting to look like a family reunion there maybe as many as 60 of us. And you would have no problem if we got to the first show early. And kept all 60 seats the whole night. Meaning maybe 20 other people get a seat for each show.

We cruised with him this past May and he remembered us from the first two times. He does tell some funny stuff before each cruise.

I'll be there before you so it won't bother me.
