Fishkillbill Posted November 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2016 I just took my first cruise on Celebrity Summit. My wife and I had the soda package. Apparently the plans are quite different from Celebrity and RC. On our cruise, every place had cans of soda. You give the bartender or hostess your seapass and they give you cans of soda with glasses with ice. We would get a number of cans, unopened, to take back to our room. I understand on RC they give you a plastic cup and you get your own from a machine. I'm confused on exactly how the RC plan works.

You get a souvenir cup that you can use if you choose to get soda from a fountain. But you can also show your seapass card at a bar or MDR to have a soda over ice. I've never seen soda handed out in a can or bottle.

Merion_Mom Posted November 6, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) So, what do you drink when in your room? If you want to use your soda package, you fill your cup at the Coke Freestyle machine and take it back to your cabin. When you want more, you return to the machine and refill your cup. dacsmom Posted November 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2016 It is not just a plastic cup, it is very large with a chip embedded in the bottom. The Freestyle machines give you an option of hundreds of drink choices and combinations.
Spurschick Posted November 6, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 6, 2016 (edited) Not sure which ship you are on but I thought Some of the ships do not have the freestyle machines yet. Edited November 6, 2016 by Spurschick
VASOXFANN Posted November 6, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2016 Just verifying - I will get a soda brought to me at dinner in the MDR with the drink package? I won't have to bring the souvenir cup and get up and search for a Freestyle machine?

However, if you don't use the cup at a Freestyle machine, yiur choices of soda will usually be limited to Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, soda water, and tonic water. Diet Coke will work for the MDR :)
cb at sea Posted November 6, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 6, 2016 On RCI, the package sodas are FOUNTAIN soda only. If you want cans, you can buy them, button on the package. A can is about $2.85 or so.
Fishkillbill Posted November 7, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Can I assume there is a refrigerator in the rooms and ice is supplied?
Clarea Posted November 7, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Can I assume there is a refrigerator in the rooms and ice is supplied? Ice is supplied upon request to your stateroom attendant. Most staterooms have coolers, but there are still some stateroom categories on older ships that don't have coolers.
