Allure 10/30/16 - Sky Class Observations

I have to disagree on the drink package. I bought ours at the 20% off sale for $44 per day +18%. We spent from about 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM on the suite sun deck using the bar, which didn't open all that early (1:00 PM on port days). But to walk all the way to the SL for a beer wouldn't be on my agenda.

So a couple of bloody marys, mojitos, and beers during the day more than broke even for us. Then maybe a free pre-dinner cocktail at SL and off to some place for dinner with a couple of glasses of wine at about $14 each and we are ahead.

I mean, if your doing a hot dog on the Boardwalk you need a cold beer and who wants to walk all the way to the SL with a hot dog or two?

No, I wouldn't walk from the suite sun deck to the SL just to get a beer, doable but not worth it. And you have a very valid point about the hot dogs, LOL.

We just don't drink that much during the day. We would usually got to the SL about 6:00 and had 3 or 4 drinks before and during dinner. Just about 8:30 I would walk over to the bar and get a double cognac for me and a double Baileys for the wife, then we had drinks with us for after dinner. My daughter usually wound up with a bottle of wine at dinner from the SL so she took a glass with her from dinner.

It comes down to whether you get your money's worth out of it, we would not.

CK had the sit down breakfast with a menu. It was nice to sit and relax and plan the day. They have a small buffet line in the Suite Lounge with eggs, sausage and bacon, pastries, and fruit.

They had the full sit down breakfast in CK on disembarking morning. That reminds me of the priority disembarking. There were 3 times you could leave; 7:45, 8:45, or 9:45. You meet in the Suite Lounge about 15 minutes before you want to leave the ship and are escorted off. Very quick and efficient. We had breakfast that morning in the CK and then relaxed in the lounge until time.

Awesome, thank you!

That's the way we roll james. The SL is a nice perk but we go with the drink package for selection and convenience.

Watch out you will be hooked for the oasis class ships! I did the crown loft and now on oasis class have to get at least a grand suite. The lounge and ck spoils you.

Too late, I am already hooked. My wife doesn't like to cruise as much as I do so she will limit my spending. :)

Wife gets hit with some motion sickness and I told her I had read that the Oasis class was so big you didn't feel motion, wrong. We felt plenty of motion. She didn't get sick but she did feel it and it bothered her.

I booked with Next Cruise for October 2017 on Oasis and plan to take the kids and grandkids. I booked us another OS and them two connecting balconies, but was considering the RFS. How would it work out for four adults and two kids (5 & 3)?

Another option might be the RFS and the connecting balcony.

The disadvantages with this set up is that the adults in the balcony will not have access to the suite lounge or suite sun deck. Not a big deal but you are paying for perks that come with an OS but not able to use them. In the RFS everyone has suite perks.

I considered that, but them not having suite perks isn't a deal breaker and I still plan to get plenty use of them. After hearing the RFS bathrooms are the size of a regular cabin that got ruled out. We love the huge bathroom in the OS.

The bathroom off the Master bedroom is the size of a JS bath. It's not the size of an OS bath, but decent. The hall bath is the size of a regular balcony bathroom.

Yes it was entertaining to watch the Pinnacle people sporting those name tags. We were a little ticked the first night in CK when our waiter seemed to fawn over one Pinnacle group just a little to much, but I get it and we never wanted for anything so no harm no foul.

I have seen them and thought it would be funny to have some plastic Platinum name tags made similar to the Pinnacle ones and wear them around and see what people say - the cruise version of a Dr. Seuss Sneetch :)

Oh that would be funny. I have never really noticed the name tags before. At first I thought the people worked for RC. Luckily I didn't ask a Pinnacle for a drink or anything.
