Carnival Victory - domed pool?

On the Carnival Website it mentions that the Victory has a dome that goes over the pool. Does that mean on colder days the dome goes up and its still warm enough to swim? Will be on this ship in January. Thanks!

The dome is over the rear pool, plus 2 hot tubs.

 

It may be closed, and you must hope they heat the water. Depends on where it's sailing.

They close the dome if the weather is chilly. Also the aft pool is adults only.

Unless it has recently changed, the aft pool on the Victory is NOT for adults only. That is true of the aft pools on some ships, but not the Victory.

 

It's a nice space with a pool, hot tub, ice cream machines, and grill. When we cruised, they kept the roof covered when it was windy and slightly cool, as well as rainy. We didn't cruise in truly cold weather, so I don't know how warm it is if it's really cold outside.

I agree. The only thing that was adults only was one of the two hot tubs, which was enforced every day except the last.

That pool can certainly be heated. The ones on the Spirit class as well. I'm sure there are others.

 

Whether they turn the heaters on is a different story. Last time we were on her was in July, where the water temperature was 62 and the roof was opened, and they wouldn't heat it. A previous trip to Canada in October had it heated, and the roof was closed.

Sorry for miss information, I guess when the Vic went to short cruises they opened the aft pool for all.:o It was not the case on my 7 day cruise.

when did they add heaters to the pools? the waters are taken directly from the ocean for the pools. (emptied each night)

we were just off ship last week and rear pool is adult only, and they enforced it when 2 kids jumped in ... there is a sign there in front

Most ships have heaters for the pools, even sea water pools, but they will typically only heat the water to about 65-70*F, if used. When the ship is within 12 miles of shore, the pool must be in recirculation mode, so the water is no longer taken in from the sea, but is recirculated and chlorinated.
