Just wondering if anyone has been to Sapphire Beach lately and know if can rent chairs at Sapphire Beach?

Cost?

What's the taxi situation? Fare?

I was there in Jan. 2016, chairs were around 5.00 and shared taxi was 11.00 p/p ea way.

I'm pretty sure chairs are $9. Taxi fare should range from $10-12 depending on where your ship docks.

No! Usually it's $10 each to rent.

Some beaches have an entrance fees which covers a package deal.

Prices seem to be increasing in St.Thomas at a higher rate than other islands - there is a limit.

"Islands" don't typically provide chairs, umbrellas, and drinks - people that rent them do.:p

But yes, cruise ship excursions and full-serve beach clubs or hotels typically include 2 chairs/umbrella and a drink in the price and it's much more than $9.

 

We just stayed on SXM and prices varied as normal, $25 for 2 chairs and an umbrella wasn't unusual. We paid $10 for the same set-up on a beach (almost as nice as Sapphire but not quite! :p) but that's because we bought lunch there.

Ha, ha, bluewater. Chairs at Emerald are still $7 and once when I was there it looked like they were having a price war because the other guy had them for $6.

Feelin' Nauti, I was referring to Emerald Beach, which I think was mentioned somewhere in this thread. Sorry for the confusion.
