kwhite Posted November 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2016 Living in the US can you book with a international agency that is out of the US for cruises in the US?
SuiteTraveler Posted November 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2016 What sort of cruise are you thinking of that is in the US? Just curious. The answer to your question is that if the international agency will do it, yes you can book with them. If you are like me and have family who are citizens of another country, then what I have done is make the booking with the cruise line on their US website. It was no problem at all. If my foreign relatives make a booking on their country's website and I make a booking on the US website, then one of us just calls the cruise line to join our reservations - all you need to know is both booking numbers. I do recall a time that Celebrity couldn't do this for us before the cruise because one reservation was on the UK website and one was on the US website and apparently the two websites have different databases that could not communicate, so right after we boarded, I just went to the Maitre'D and did it directly with him. It was not a problem in person. The same is true for specialty restaurant reservations. In either case (whether the reservations are supposedly joined or not) I would double-check with the Maitre'D upon boarding.
leaveitallbehind Posted November 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) What sort of cruise are you thinking of that is in the US? Just curious. They may mean "in the US" as in departures from the US?? Sounds like they live in the US but are considering using a non-US based agency for booking a US based cruise - such as living in the US and using a UK agency, as example, to book a US based cruise? Perhaps the OP can clarify. Edited November 27, 2016 by leaveitallbehind
