I am with the OP here. Carnival already jerked them around, costing money and time to change flights. Then to rush back for Carnival's convenience, it made a bumpy ride even bumpier. Sorry for the OP and hope you get your money back soon.

This could have happened on any line.

 

And presumably they were not "rushing back" for their own convenience, but to try to stick to the original schedule for the benefit of many passengers who had driven to port - they could then get on their way close to the original schedule.

 

Carnival could have communicated better, that's for sure, but poor communication is quite common for airlines, cruiselines etc.
