Clarea Posted December 16, 2016 #404 Share Posted December 16, 2016 Thanks for the quick response. Huge help right there knowing this. Wonder what other options there are. Nothing as far as the cruise line is concerned. However, there are always porters available at the cruise terminal to help with luggage.

astro1861 Posted December 16, 2016 #406 Share Posted December 16, 2016 (edited) Thank you for the excellent review and all the time you are putting into this effort. It is greatly appreciated. I will be on this same itinerary in February. I noticed from the Cruise Compasses you posted that the Windjammer seems to be closed from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. I have been on other Voyager class ships, and the WJ is usually open for something called Afternoon Snacks from 3:30 to 5:00 PM, and in fact, the WJ is often my first stop when I get back from a shore excursion. It is a very minor issue and I am probably the only person who even cares about it, but I would be interested if you can confirm that the WJ is indeed closed from 3:30 to 6:00 PM. Best regards, - Astro Edited December 16, 2016 by astro1861

CruiseLifeRick Posted December 17, 2016 Author #408 Share Posted December 17, 2016 I'm behind again, but just remember the title of this thread and note that today was a sea day so I had to hydrate from the intense Southern Caribbean UV! Tomorrow I will hopefully catch up. Just a preview, I missed dinner tonight as I had to nurse my mid-day "headache." Sent from my iPhone using Forums I am really surprised that the Windjammer is closed between those hours. My experience has always been like Astro described. Between this, and another thread that is running about Navigator, I am starting to believe that this ship has had some major changes since I was last aboard. And the changes are not sounding like they are for the better.

Sent from my SM-T350 using Forums mobile app Correct, but I think the original question was where to get a snack after returning to the ship from a port day. lyoness2 Posted December 17, 2016 #414 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Have either of you noticed if Windjammer has had fresh OJ? It never seemed to be up and running on our last cruise, which bummed my husband.

truffles2 Posted December 17, 2016 #416 Share Posted December 17, 2016 The fresh OJ seems to be low priority for them. Don't know how they expect to make any $ if it is not available and I find it unavailable most of the time. We usually eat breakfast early and all the other breakfast items are ready, but you have to ferret out the OJ guy, then he has to pick the oranges, find the glasses, and so on....very aggravating. The only time it has not been this way was on a Legend transatlantic and they had everything ready! all the time! They always tell me to go get my breakfast and they will bring it to me--but I want it WITH my breakfast, not midway or later:rolleyes:.

CruiseLifeRick Posted December 17, 2016 Author #418 Share Posted December 17, 2016 Day seven consisted of a very leisurely morning around the ship, while we waited to disembark for our Woodwind Snorkel tour, which did not begin until noon. At 11:30 AM we made our way off the ship and down the waterfront to our meet-up location at the DiviFlamingo Casino and resort (10 minute walk). Due to Carnival Conquest arriving into Bonaire late that morning (which we were also in Aruba with), the morning Snorkel tour went out late and pushed back our afternoon tour by a half hour. The Woodwind representative waiting at the Casino entrance told us we could relax either by the resort pool or on one of the ocean side loungers. We opted for a lounger on the ocean (no beach) and used the opportunity to jump in the water for a bit before our tour began. We boarded the boat around 12:40 and made our way out to the open water. The first 45 minutes of the tour consisted of getting fitted for flippers, masks and snorkels. Woodwind also offers the EasyBreathe Snorkel (see the picture in my previous posts), which ultimately I decided to forego as you are not able to free dive. At 1:30 PM, after being separated into three groups (experienced, novice and beginners) we made our way into the water. The reefs in Bonaire and the fish life that inhabit them are amazing. CruiseLifeRick Posted December 17, 2016 Author #419 Share Posted December 17, 2016 After about 90 minutes of drift snorkeling, we returned to the catamaran, captained by E.T., for some libations and an excellent plated lunch. The tour ended a little after 3:30 PM and after some souvenir shopping we walked back onto the ship right at all aboard (4:30 PM). I spent sail away and the remainder of pre-dinner hanging at the Sky Bar with a new lifelong friend and the best bartender on the ship, Denys. Blue Long Islands on deck. Everything turns blue when you realize you are sailing home. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Izumi is an a la carte menu, but if you are on a dining package you will receive a $30 per person allowance. Starting off the meal properly with a bottle of Sake.
