BURNS1 Posted December 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2016 I am travelling with a family of 11 ranging in ages from 10 to 74. Looking at Brewer's. Are there chairs to rent? How is the one beach bar and facilities. I hear it is a good place to snorkel, but do they have snorkel rental?

How is the one beach bar and facilities. I hear it is a good place to snorkel, but do they have snorkel rental? No Chairs but have sun-beds (basic quality) Plenty of beach space, drag the beds to favourite position or the beach captain will assist for a small gratuity ($1.00 per bed is the norm) The beach bar is a basic no frills establishment, same with the facilities Fun to snorkel out from the front of the beach bar to the rocks on the left. Watch pelecans dive around one while in the water, but if lucky, get to see the Tarpon. Plenty of taxis for the return to ship. Because if it's geographic location, it has been known to rain mid/late afternoon.

lyndasilk Posted January 14, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2017 My mother-in-law has bad knees. She can walk on her own but is not good with rocky or bumpy or rugged terrain, and long walks are difficult for her. Would Brewers Beach be okay for her? Yes From taxi drop-off to beach is an easy flat walk of about 20 Yards. Beach is also flat. Enjoy. But sometimes Brewers will experience a rain shower, but the beach bar (basic bar and facilities) will offer shelter and drinks. Plenty of taxis about for the return trip. PORT ROYAL Posted January 22, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) Are there any lockers or a way to secure your belongings if you're snorkeling? Thanks!! No lockers, but have never experienced the beach suffering from crime. If having a crime concern, one can always ask the beach bar to hold your belongings safe (in a bag) whilst your party is in the sea. ;) The view out to sea is wonderful. blue_water Posted February 5, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2017 Yes the walk is very flat and would not be a problem. There are also nice shaded spots to relax in. Very nice bay with a much quieter vibe than Cane Garden Bay, for example. But larger groups traveling together can change that of course... For someone looking for more amenities CGB is also a nice beach and very flat with easy water access, but CGB also attracts the most visitors as a result. But if you are in port for awhile and wanted to enjoy a quieter beach and also have a nice lunch, you could enjoy Brewers, then taxi to CGB for a lunch at Myett's and enjoy the nice view of the boats moored there and perhaps visit the Callwood rum distillery. Just a thought as the beaches are pretty close via taxi. These beaches, along with Josiah's Bay, Long Bay (West End), and Smuggler's Cove are on the north shore and can be impacted by rougher sea conditions. There was high surf and heavy flooding recently that had closed so many BVI and USVI beaches for a couple weeks. We've been watching the webcams at CGB and beaches on other islands and the water has been nice and calm. Rain showers can pop up anywhere at anytime in the islands of course but generally pass over quickly. But do enjoy your day at Brewers and be sure to report back on your experience! :)
