Saw the add for chips and peanuts, I would just grab a bag of chips from the place that sells the roast beef sandwiches and save for later........

Just saying.

After my last cruise on Oasis (11/27/16) not sure. They were limiting the chips to the point that one day "they were out of them",,, except the next day a few suddenly appeared....saving money again

Tech toy question...how do you like the W-E1 adapter? Why did you switch from the EYE-FI card? I also have a 7D II and have been thinking of adding wireless. Would be interested in your experiences. Thanks.

I like the fact it gives full remote control abilities in EOS Utility. That includes live view, only thing I don't think it can do is record video directly.

Reason for the change is the EYE-FI folks pulled the run from under the X2 customers.

I do miss things like the instant transfer of shots from card to computer. Part of the reason I got that portable wireless router. Plus I liked the endless memory feature.

I haven't really used the wireless that much yet. Transferring 22mb RAW files does take some time over wireless.

Either way, love the 7d mk ii body. Was an upgrade from the 40d. One of these days I'll rent a full frame (5d mk iv) just to see what it is like.

Good afternoon all, sorry for those that are reading this from work.

I’m currently lounging on the couch writing this in the wonderful Crown Loft Suite looking out at Labadee.

20161220150834-3430593d-me.jpg

First, based on the post this morning I think you guys might already know the summary of the Drink Package Damage Report. So I’ll leave that to your imagination. On another note, don’t think the folks in the Champagne Bar are that use to folks doing shots…

When I woke up this morning a harsh reality set in, today is day three of a five day cruise. The first two days have been such a blur (not the alcohol induced kind).

I know some talk on the boards have come up about the minimums at the Casino. So far these last two cruises the table games have been $5 mins (not sure about Blackjack). Craps was $5 single odds, looked like $25 would let you do double odds. My games of choice between these last two cruises have been three card poker and Let it Ride. Most nights it is standing room only for three card poker. Just happened to stumble over to the craps table passing thru the casino early this morning. Somehow I left the casino with even money.

Only major events yesterday were the cabin crawl, or in this case show off the loft and Suite Lounge, and the top tier party.

Dinner was in Coastal Kitchen.

Dessert was in Windjammer (they had crepes).

Not as long as a post as usual, think I’m starting to get write-up fatigue. That or I do better thinking after midnight…

Coastal Kitchen is amazing! We can eat here every night!

With only three menus in CK, I'm not sure we will eat there more than three times for dinner. We will be sailing in star class so we also have unlimited free specialty dinning, so Im sure the other four nights we will be in one of the specialty restaurants. I do not see us using the main dinning room at all, nor Windjammer, DH hates buffets.

I'm glad to hear that everyone loves the service and the meals in CK, so I'm sure we will enjoy it. Thanks for reporting!

If I heard them right, $36 for 15 punches. Not sure if 18% needs to be added to that.

So another day comes to an end.

Drink Package: Today would have been a break even day. Didn't really indulge on Labadee, not much of a sweet drink or beer person. At the same time, I think after dinner alone I might have broken even.

No breakfast recon this morning so no idea what they had or how busy.

Roamed around the ship side area of Labadee (Barefoot Beach, Nellie's Beach, and Columbus Cove). Between Nellie's and Columbus there is a trail connecting the two areas. The advantage in not having to run the shopping gauntlet to reach Columbus Cove. Never went near that area, so no idea how pushy they were.

On Barefoot Beach the lunch setup had your standard hot dogs and hamburgers. Also had jerk boneless chicken breast, minute steak, lamb chops, and shrimp skewers. Later on the shrimp skewers were replaced by fish.

Weather wise it wasn't too hot and overall nice and sunny.

After getting back to the ship and showing off the view, I dozed off. Woke up, showered, and scouted out Windjammer.

One thing that stood out was they had a bowl of crab legs. These were already in half, just had to pull out the meat. It also appeared to be "Taco Tuesday" with a chefs station setup for that theme.

Dinner was in Coastal Kitchen with Menu 2.

Dessert wise, the chocolate and olive oil cake was very rich. This is geared towards the kind of person that likes dark chocolate.

After that hung hung around at the Champagne Bar until I realized that the comedy show might have been booked. Still on sure if I was on the list or not, when asked for room number I don't think it was on the printed list. They looked it up on the tablet, after asking to see my card I was let in.

Still not sure if I had the reservation or if I was let in for having a purple card. Checked on the TV and I don't see anything booked. On this segment it was only the Comedy club booked.

Another item, it think the Aqua shows have either been cancled or delayed this cruise due to weather or technical issues.

Other than that, a simple post this time around. Today (Wednesday) is a sea day, so if anyone wants anything scouted I'll do my best.

Thanks for the update. How was the Comedy Show?

Comedian was Phil Tag. Show was about 45 minutes. Had some of the usual cruise related jokes, slipped in the bathroom and fell on my bed and fells like parting of the seas in order to get out of an elevator (wait for those to exit before trying to get in).

With it being 70's night he also had so in room material to work with. Was told that on the final night a show would be done in the main theater with diffrent material.

Overall, I thought the show was good.

Wow, what a difference a week makes. 9:15 and WJ is packed with a line to get in on both sides. About 9a it was walk in.

No smoked salmon was set out.

School is out in Florida now. We are on the ship too, tons of families, fairly young crowd. My daughter was told 800 teens and heard a total of 1500 kids on board for this leg.

Phil Tag was on our Harmony cruise. He was ok, I've heard better and I've heard worse. We also were to have a "different" show the last night of our cruise, but we found that most all of his stuff was from his show we saw earlier in the week, with maybe 3 or 4 new jokes thrown in. Had we known we wouldn't have stayed up to see the show at 11pm the night before getting off the ship.

Michael, where did you get the printout of the D+ perks? Thanks for this thread....great information.

I have a paper sheet, will scan once I get back. I'll try and get a bar printout later.
