BillK400 Posted December 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2016 We will be taking a TA in April (Regal) with a sizable OBC (from Princess) that I don't expect to use fully and don't want to waste it (not use the full amount or purchase items / services we don't really need or want - have gratitude paid so thats one big item that we won't use the OBC on). I am looking for ways to "cost shift" the credit to a future cruise (we will be on an Asian cruise on the Majestic in June with very little OBC). I have one idea that involves purchasing speciality coffee cards which I understand if not used can be used on another / future cruise. We do enjoy Lattes! Purchase a few on the TA cruise to be used later on the Asian cruise. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Put card in slot machine, put balance of OBC on card to play, take a spin or two (or three of you're winning) then cash out. Or just get the balance refunded at the end of your sailing if it is refundable. Takes about 2-3 weeks, comes via check from accounting firm, then you can apply to whatever you want once home. Put it in bank, buy yourself some OBC for next cruise, whatever... Edited December 11, 2016 by reedprincess
BillK400 Posted December 11, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Thanks for the tip about the casino. Might use it! I understand that OBC from Princess (the OBC I am getting is from Princess, not the TA)is non-refundable...true?

Happy2cruise Posted December 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Personally, think the coffee card idea is a good one;)
Astro Flyer Posted December 11, 2016 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Usually the only refundables are anything you put into it, and the Military OBC. In addition to those credits, I've read that OBC received from moveover offers is also refundable but most have an * next to credits displayed in the Cruise Personalizer stating "Please enjoy using these credits onboard as they are not refundable".
