The Splendor was originally going there, but since RC, NCL and Princess are all sending new builds there, maybe Carnival wants to keep up. China is the fastest growing market in the world right now. Carnival is working with them to bring out their own nationalized ships. I would be more than shocked to see a brand new Carnival ship go there.... that said, who knows... Fincantieri is involved not only in the actual build, but in developing the infrastructure and supply chain to support building cruise ships in China.
