Question about FP

If we book our son into the room with us and he ends up not being able to go, do we pay gratuities for a ghost? We would lose the 150 extra it cost to add him into the room but he isn't totally sure he can go.

Jumping off and trying the Carnival Sunshine.

Thanks in advance

If a 3rd guest is booked in the room that ends up not going you should get the port fees refunded and won't be charged the daily gratuities for that 3rd person. As you already seem to know, the 3rd persons cruise fare would be forfeited. Also unsure about what FP stands for.

A 3rd person cancelling within 14 days of the cruise date or not showing up would result in a 100% refund of the Government Fees and Taxes.

Port Charges are something else (aka NCF's) and are embedded in the quoted cruise fare and are not refunded.

No gratuities would be charged for a non passenger.

I did mean final payment. Guess I am used to texting with these youngins!

It would the 4th. We have been blessed with children who choose not to miss school.

We are taking our nine year old but the 10th grader is undecided. The senior has a trip planned of his own and my college kid can't miss. We were closed out once from adding someone by the Coast Guard and don't want that to happen again.

So it appears we would get the port fees back and not pay the gratuities? Are the port fees the add on after the fare is quoted?

Thanks so much for the giggles this morning.

Left ya a little thinker above but it's easy!

The Government Fees and Taxes are the add on after the fare is quoted.

Port Charges are something else (aka NCF's .. Non Commissionaire Fees) and are embedded in the quoted cruise fare and are not refunded.

For example, if you are quoted a cruise fare of $799 per person, there may be Port Charges (NCF's) of $159 embedded in there. Making your actual cruise fare $640 + $159 =$799 per person. You get quoted $799 per person + Government Fees and Taxes.

The booking agent or website need not break down the $799 any further. You do not get the NCF/Port Charges back. You do get the Government Fees and Taxes back.
