Just a few observations: Embarkation was quick, on board by 12:15. Sea were very rough first 2 days, I had to leave the dining room the first night due to the motion.

The ship is in need of updates and refreshing. Our cabin, 6487, extended aft balcony. The room directly above comedy club, could hear the shows. The floor had a spot between the bed and table that buckled and popped when stepped on. Some trim in the cabin was broken off. Room looked clean, however, there was visible dust on the shelf that had the TV on it. This stayed all cruise. I asked for ice the first evening, did not receive it until the 2nd night. Also had to request robes.

The food in the dining room was good. Our wait staff was attentive. Food in the lido buffet was not as good. The barbecue on deck 10 was good, as was the deli, cantina, and Guys.

We enjoyed the Dive in movies. The music was okay for the most part. Liked a sax and trombone duet.

Debarkation was a mess. The gangway was broken so everyone was delayed.

It was round 11:30 when we finally got our luggage and waited in a long line for customs.

If you have any questions, I will try to answer them.

I was just on the Conquest as well. Interesting ... I asked for ice the first day and they brought it every single day after that without asking. I actually might like being able to hear the comedy club in my room considering I could never get a seat!! LOL!

Sorry about the debarkation - we had issues as the line was sooo long and only 2 custom agents when there was a setup for 6. I won't sail from Fort Lauderdale ever again. I agree about the MDR and lido food and lines.

Thank you for the feedback - I assume this was the eight day? I cannot recall if Conquest has the Seafood Shack yet but if it does, did you try it and how was it? Also note to self (as if I wasn't already aware): do not book a cabin above (or below) any entertainment venues. ;)

As to the condition of the ship, I believe it is due in for maintenance in October 2017 so hopefully the issues you noted will be corrected.

Hey fellow Iowan. I was on the Dec. 4-10 cruise. I ate at the MDR only 3 of the nights do to time conflicts. Each night in the MDR was good and even found the lido buffet good enough not to complain about it. And yes, loved the BBQ up on deck 11. Had the Steakhouse one night and it was excellent. Great food, service and even the Chef came out to talk and was very accommodating.

As for the condition of the ship, I thought it wasn't bad for a 14 years old ship (last drydock 4 years ago).

And as for debarkation, there was a long line inside the terminal, as they only had 3 Custom Agents that day, but can't blame that on Carnival.

Overall, we really enjoyed the cruise. 6 day, but spent an extra day on either end in Fort Lauderdale. Very relaxing ports and sea days. I still like the Conquest and Triumph Class ships. Just the right size.

Yes it has a seafood shack. I did not try it.

This was upsetting to read. I definitely do not like seeing signs of wear while on a cruise, however, I am so stressed out with work and school, I cannot wait for my vacation, and usually will not notice. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the barbecue place, and Guys and Cantina, I haven't had either since March 2015!

Very glad our flight time was changed and we opted to move to the evening flight, I would've freaked out if I had to wait 2 hours to swing a now 8:40AM flight!

Thanks for your contribution! [emoji4]

We were also on this cruise. Ship Christmas decorations were very pretty along with the Christmas shows. Agree with ruff seas and cabin condition, stained carpet and a lot of rust on aft extended balcony and could see light coming thru the drapes. Cabin very dusty entire cruise and windows so dirty had trouble seeing out. MDR was hit and miss for temperature of meals but good. Sea day brunch is very good. Only ate in Lido a couple of times for lunch and breakfast was ok. BBQ is very good, did not eat at the seafood place but never full. We had FTTF so as soon as the gangplank was open we walked right thru customs with no wait at all. Casino was way too much smoke, could only go early morning. Sick cruiser evacuation helicopter was right at our balcony, could feel the air coming off the blades. Pretty ship but needs a lot of TLC. Forgot to mention Guys was very good first time, 2nd time the burgers were way overdone and dry.
