San Juan - PR Vendors

We are to be in San Juan in March.

Are there any vendors that we could check out as one of the first things, once we arrive there? I always like to check them out before going to the main stores. If they do have any, how close are they from the dock, and how do we get to them, time wise walk or drive?

IMO is a short stroll to Calle Fortaleza, Calle Christo, or Callee San Francisco where many local shops are. The Plaza Colon, which is almost directly up hill from the cruise piers if you head toward the San Cristobol fort has a variety of kiosks and stands plus there are small places in the buildings surrounding the plaza. There is a "free" hop on hop off bus/shuttle that goes around to the forts et.al. and has a stop by the cruise pier. It is crowded and sometimes full by the piers though. Information and map with stops. here. Printable pdf or download link to your phone.

Crewsweaper, this is very informative. Thank you, as this will really help.

As for someone asking about what we are looking for, something possibly made there in PR, or jewelry. Just looking to bring "home" something "different" from the states.

Were you to find a small c eraamic, glass, , whatever material, frog, it is the symbol of San Juan,,,, th e small cocqui frog lives in trees and San Juan uses it as one of its symbols. Also............. Puerto Rrico is not a state but is territory of U.S. Thy have a vote from time to time to determine if majority wants to become a state and it keeps failing.
