We had an awesome cruise on the Westerdam 12/17 to 12/24/20016.

Getting on the Boat:

We stayed at the Marriott Springhill Inn Friday night. The hotel is 6 months old and is right across the street from the cruise port. Very clean and friendly hotel.

We walked to the cruise port at 11 am which took only 5min. No lines and it was organized. Everyone working was very friendly and helpful. Got our room keys and info and sat down for about 30min. They began boarding around 11:30am and our group got on at 11:40am. Very impressed. It was better organized then Fort Lauderdale.

Got to our room at 11:45am then up to the Lido for lunch by 12pm.

The staff and workers on the Westerdam are very friendly and hard working. The Captain runs a very good ship.

Food was very good. They served lobster and steak in the Lido on a Thursday which was very good. ( yes all you can eat lobster).

Getting off the ship was very simple, organized and quick. We had a time slot for 8:45am. We were called at 8:40am walked off the boat at 8:45am...no lines and we went to customs and walked out of the cruise at 8:48am.

Overall very impressed by San Diego Cruise port and the Westerdam Staff.

We embarked at San Diego earlier this month and were also impressed with the ease and organization.

We dropped our luggage off early in the morning then returned after lunch to board. The drop off was a cinch - drive in, open the trunk and they take the stuff, then drive off. In and out in a couple of minutes.
