suamom Posted January 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2017 We plan on booking a 2018 Celebrity sailing while we are on a Royal ship in March. If I try to book online, it says a $900 deposit is due. Will it be a lesser deposit if we book onboard? We are diamond with Royal and always book a balcony. Thanks
jelayne Posted January 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Normally the deposit is less if booked on board. When you book you will get the perks/deposit offered by Celebrity not what Royal may be offering. Be sure to get a Celebrity Captains club number before you book ( C & A can do this for you). As Diamond on Royal you will be granted the benefits of Elite on Celebrity.

Thanks We just booked on Reflection for 2017 and the deposit was only $100 P.P. for a 10 day ! We got two perks plus $200 O.B.C . When we got back I turned it over to a T.A. and got one more perk plus a dinner for two! So we ended up with 3 perks plus O.B.C. It does pay to book on board! phillygirl2400 Posted January 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Hi. No, you need a credit card to charge your deposit. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
suamom Posted January 4, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Thanks for info. We do have a Captain's Club number since we have sailed 1 cruise w Celebrity in the past. Glad we will get the Royal Diamond benefits when sailing. We will definitely book onboard to get the onboard booking benefits. Since this is a 2018 cruise, I would rather not pay a 900.00 deposit so hopefully, it will be less, which will be a bonus, as well.
thebutlerdidit Posted January 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2017 When I booked on board for relatives who chose a suite, their credit card was charged $900 per person or $1800. This was a couple of years ago and the booking was for a Celebrity Suite. If there's a special where deposits are 50% less, that may be where the $900 is coming from. This is just a guess!
