swansnz Posted January 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2017 Leaving on Thursday Auckland-Auckland cruise on Dawn Princess. We will have a day in Sydney, where I expect the bulk of passengers will be disembarking/embarking (as the cruise is also offered Sydney-Sydney). Cruise Personalizer only showed a couple of debark tours, so I was wondering if anyone knows if there would be any “normal” tours that could be booked on board? Kiwi Kruzer Posted January 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Probably not, but check with Shorex office once on board.Looks like you are docked at White Bay . There is the White Bay ferry...check thread on this board..which will take you over to Barangaroo and from there its an easy walk into Darling Harbour or take another ferry around to Circular Quay. https://www.captaincook.com.au/sydney-harbour-cruises/ferries/white-bay-cruise-terminal-city-ferry/ A trip on the Manly Ferry or a ride on the HOHO bus to Bondi are easy to do on your own. Rare mr walker Posted January 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2017 It doesn't seem that there are 'normal' shore tours in Sydney on turnaround day. An option may to be to book the City and Bondi Beach tour, which is of course designed for those leaving the ship in Sydney, but it may work for you as the wording on Princess site says "This tour is available to passengers on most voyages disembarking in Sydney and departing on the same day with flights after 4:00 p.m.; passengers who have extended stays in Sydney including all CruisePlus passengers, and/or to passengers in transit between voyages." We did something similar in Honolulu on our transpacific cruise - we took the departing passengers tour which was to end at the airport, but left the tour at last stop [Pearl Harbour] and got taxi back to ship for re-boarding. Otherwise, as Kiwi Kruzer suggests, there is ample to do 'on-your-own'.
swansnz Posted January 9, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Thanks for the replies. I will go and see the shore excursions staff after I board, if there is nothing, it looks like it's the white bay ferry into the city.
