zscfan Posted January 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Hello all, I'm considering booking a cruise on the Dawn. I know that the original spinnaker lounge was remodeled into suites, so now it is on one of the lower decks. One of my favorite activities on a cruise ship is to sit in the spinnaker lounge and read a book or listen to music while gazing at the ocean. My question is, does the spinnaker lounge on the Dawn have windows? If not, is there a lounge or observation room that is similar to the spinnaker lounges on other NCL ships? Sent from my iPhone using Forums The Star is sister ship to Dawn and they added small windows at drydock so light could come in but I don't know if they did that for Dawn. On the Star I used to sit in Gatsby bar area and look across inside walkway to window view of ocean while reading since Gatsby was often deserted during the day. I hope you can find a comparable place on Dawn.
Rare cheersforbeers Posted January 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2017 There is no Spinnaker with the forward observation, enclosed area on the Dawn. I also like to go there and read. We were on the Dawn over Thanksgiving, newly refurbished. I thought the changes were great. We only encountered problems with the plumbing throughout the ship, but the crew handled it to the best of their ability. Enjoy your cruise. Nola26 Posted January 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I am not sure of your requirements, but there are Windows on deck 8 and 9. Restaurant seating is close to windows. Cellars wine bar has table seating by windows and on 6 there are window seats (literally) outside Gatsby's and the casino so easy to grab a drink and recline in those spaces. TheDougOut Posted January 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2017 The closest you'll find will be the heated loungers and the corner quiet rooms within the Spa. The thermal pass is such a great deal on the Dawn, as it's almost always quiet. We never saw more than 3 or 4 other guests in there. Rhea98 Posted January 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Except be careful in Dawn spa. See the TV monitors? In the ladies' area, it played non-stop. When I asked the volume be muted, they did so without issue. I honestly did not think to ask about turning it off (it advertises their services). DH reported that the one on the men's side had a remote available which guests used to turn to broadcast sports games so that they could then turn the room into a game watch time. This was in December. Of course, YMMV. Just an fyi. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk Edited January 9, 2017 by Rhea98

UPNYGuy Posted January 12, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Dawn has a Spinnaker lounge. It is aft, where the Bliss lounge is located on Gem, and the shops are located on Jewel and Jade if I recall correctly. Can you (or anyone else) elaborate on those plumbing issues? We're thinking of booking on the Dawn...(But not till 2018) Thanks!
pathubia Posted January 12, 2017 #12 Share Posted January 12, 2017 Spinnaker is now Bliss on the Dawn, I think there are a couple of windows when you walk in on the left.
