dobes3kh Posted January 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2017 I'm familiar with the uber concept (have not actually used it though) and have never heard of Lyft (It appears it's similar/same to uber) and I was wondering if anyone has used either of these services to get from either Miami Airport or a nearby Miami Airport hotel to get to Fort Lauderdale Port (Everglades) and if so, how was your experience? Cost? Is it a good idea for 2 persons with 2 large pieces of baggage etc? I have used SAS in the past but of course they don't service the Miami Airport. CruiserBruce Posted January 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) There are many threads here on the topic. Uber runs about $40 or 45. A quick search fro "Uber" on the board will get you lots of info. Edited January 9, 2017 by CruiserBruce
JohninDC Posted January 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) UberX should be able to easily handle 2 passengers plus bags - typically a Toyota Camry or similar vehicle You can plug the address of your hotel into this site to estimate the fare: http://uberestimate.com/ Edited January 9, 2017 by JohninDC
NHNEV2003 Posted January 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Cruised week after Thanksgiving--a little over a month ago. Used Lyft from Fort Lauderdale airport to Hilton Miami Hotel, used Lyft from that hotel to the Port of Miami post-cruise, and used Lyft to the airport a couple of days after staying in Fort Lauderdale a couple of extra days. Totally happy with costs and services. We did not use Lyft from the Port of Miami post-cruise to Fort Lauderdale 17th Street Hotel--we will in the future. Either Uber or Lyft are fine.
